———————————————————-

Nothing can be done about it now
The earth cry’s out for your salty tears
It demands your minerals
You’ve had your allotted years

There is no escape
No more time left to give
It’s the path that you must follow
You’ve had your time to live

There are no exceptions
There can be no deal
You’re days have ran out
there is no appeal

No I don’t want to hear your excuses
I don’t care about what you say
Your sand is all gone
You life is required today

That's the way it should be. But when you die, you live through your children. And one day, they will pass the torch to their children. The cycle of life.

You know I’ve wondered about our ability to ignore this basic fact. It’s the only sure thing we know about ourselves. Once we’re born, we will die. Everything else is variable.

With covid, it took about 9 months and an intense effort to come up with a vaccine. I imagine in two-three years, the medical community will have the virus mostly under control.

Why hasn’t humanity given the same coordinated effort for solving the problem of death? If we organized and put enough resources into it, is it really something we can’t eradicate from our reality?

At least from an aging standpoint. Accidents and new diseases may always come about. But we’re way too comfortable with the fact that everyone will age, weaken, and succumb to Father Time.

Well that’s not true. You know how many kids, toddlers and babies there are who don’t even know what death is yet? Therefore your statement is incorrect.

I ain’t afraid of dying. It’s the thought of being dead. I want to go on being me once my energy’s been read.

Don’t spread my ashes out to sea, don’t lay me down to rest. You can put my mind at ease if you fill my last request.....
