if you dont take care of the pool regularly it becomes a huge fricking job. So people pay others to do it. I clean mine every day.
My pool is surrounded by trees, my robot can’t keep up. If I had a pool with no trees nearby, I would consider doing it myself, but I don’t blink at the ~$300 I pay per month to keep it clean.

Our pool guy is a sole proprietor and does 110 pools a month at $90 a pool. That's Monday through Friday. On Saturday he does pool repairs. For a sole proprietor he does pretty well for himself. This is in Naples, FL so he is busy every week of the year.
Damn that’s pretty rough I feel like.
Hope he makes bank on those repairs

Damn that’s a great rate.
All I can say is we need a lot more Hispanics in south La to come get into the grass cutting business. Prices are too high

It is hard work but 2 years ago I bought my wife a nice car for her birthday with proceeds from lawn care and this year I am taking her on a 10 day cruise in Europe.

Given my time is worth 11 billion dollars per hour , it makes financial sense

Cleaning pools cant pay that well to afford a 80k plus truck.
Pays enough to get you approved.

I'm almost certain that the former CEO of Kleinpeter Dairy, who now owns a pool service company, makes more money cleaning pools than he did when he was a CEO.
It can pay very well. This doesn't necessarily mean that the people doing the actual work are making bank, but don't think that people aren't willing to pay for their pools to be cleaned, their yards to be cut, and their vehicles to be washed.

Trucks are such a ripoff, I’m not paying $600 a month for a base model, shite f150. If I’m spending at least $600, I’m bumping my budget to $1,000 for a Denali 2500 platinum or King Ranch F250. If I can’t afford the $600-$1000 a month range, I’m just buying a 70’s f100 restored for like $10,000.

It’s strange that you are using a monthly note as some kind of commentary about prices.

monthly note
The price of the truck means nothing unless you are paying cash. It’s all about your monthly note and what you can afford when it comes to financing. A $32,000 truck, on a 60 month loan at 15% will cost you $9,000 more than a $60,000 truck on a 60 month loan at 2%. It’s all about the note, not the price.

All the pool guys I used to party with are now plant baws. It’s like genetics or something.

You would be 100% wrong. This is about the rate in Florida. Small pools. Screen enclosures. Tons of competition.

I know plenty of pool guys. The guys building the pools may be in 80k trucks. I don't know many service guys, if any, in 80k trucks. Most of the one man show guys aren't making much but a good part of that is lack of motivation.

This board loves fast food chicken tenders, based on how many threads there are complaining about the prices and shrinking sizes of fast food chicken fingers.
