Went to osut (boot camp) with an African guy named Coulibaly who was a former Legionnaire. The guy was terrifying. Laughed his way through all the training. Even the drill sergeants seemed afraid of him. They'd tear into the rest of us but they used a respectful tone when they spoke to Coulibaly.

Good deal if you're a criminal. You basically get a new life and a French passport after your service.

That's what I thought, they are a mercenary force for France. Considered very bad-arse.

Yea had a junior Marine that was a in the French Foreign Legion. Also my unit trained with them in France, and I will tell you those dudes are in shape. They aren't great shots, but they out PT us all day. Royal Marines are in really good shape as well.

Went to a dance once at the French Settlement American Legion post.
Foreigner was played there.
