I’ve never requested time off. I inform that I will not be there. Man up.

As a manager, I don't revoke and live with the consequences as circumstances change. I move resources around.

IT, data specifically. In the midst of a multimillion project where countless third party contractors have screwed it up, so now it's on us to fix it on time or people get rolled.

No I'm not making 300k half that plus bonus.

I'm logging 60+ a week, not counting weekends. I can't remember the last weekend I didn't work. I haven't had a lunch break in 2 years. I was promoted last year, but at 5% less than promised because HR axed it due to market conditions.

It's a great place I've cemented myself as tops in the data realm, every decision from planning to development requests my input. I work with robots that need constant black and white direction, and now it's impacted my benefits.

Had a girl boss cancel my PTO the night before. Then, she tried to give me shite for not being at work. I resigned and she got investigated.

You don't have to be an OT baller. Just have enough money to pay at least a year's worth of bills. That is plenty of time to figure out the next move.

Maybe the world you live in, but you signed up for that. If my supervisor, at a job I voluntarily go to, tried this on me, I’d tell him to make a compensatory offer worth my time or kiss my whole a-hole.

In my line of work, we sometimes have emergencies pop up and I always answer the phone and responses any tome day or night. If my boss tried to pull such shite, I would give him a chance to explain. If there was a reasonable explanation I’d be happy to work with him and would be happy that he called me when he was in a bind. On the other hand, if there was not a good reason, I would never answer the phone after hours again and would start looking for a job immediately

And you're going to keep doing that until you grow a set and get them to find some decent help by working normal hours.

Been there, got the t-shirt, lost the hair.

Not saying it’s not a dick move. It most certainly is.

However, you can’t ignore the fact that he’s your supervisor and you report to him.

I still wouldn’t have done it if I were him.

So he wants you to log in and work while he takes the day off? Hmmmm...

I've never had PTO revoked after it was approved but one time my boss overheard me talking to a coworker in the mail room about the day I was requesting off for a concert weeks away. By the time I got to my desk there was an email to the entire office declaring that exact week blacked out for any PTO. It wasn't a busy time for us and it never happened any other time in the five years I was there. 100% was the catalyst for a major life change that did not involve working there any more.

Tell him no backsies...

For the record- I told my Boss and the #2 when I put time in I am not seeking approval.
Its to let them know I wont be in that day/week. So adjust for someone to cover
