My drubbing came in practice. I was on a team where half the starters went on to play college ball and three made it to the NFL. I was on the scout team and it wasn't pretty. One time in particular I was playing DE. The fullback put a lead block on me and the next thing I know I'm flat on my back looking up at the sky and I can;t see. I thought I was dead for a minute.

Yes, Freshman year (1992) We (St Anthony) played Lytle, Texas and we were comically outmatched, and I forget the score. We were a very small school with very few subs. By the 4th quarter we were just playing on pride. I hated that we lost but had such an adrenaline rush for just finishing the game. The Next week we beat Antonian.

So you grew up in Misssissipi? I thought you were a Baton Rouge guy. How did your journey take you to Baton Rouge?

My senior year of High School we played a playoff football game at Ouachita HS. Lost like 45-0 and did not cross the 50. This was a second round game after we had gone on the road in the first round and beaten Carencro with Kevin Faulk at RB.

Nutt used to let his players have intramural basketball teams.
Needless to say, when our Pomfret Honors Dorm team played them, it was pretty comical.

Not a team sport but when I was 16, I sparred with an older man at my karate gym. I thought I'd make quick work of him, but he beat the shite out of me. I had to curl up in a ball on the ground before he stopped wailing on me. That was the day I learned about old man strength.

Nope, but the school I went to regularly played private schools in Mississippi at the time. We joined the Mississippi Private School Association my freshman year. We'd go to Woodville, Centreville, McComb and play games. We played schools in LA too like Silliman. It was sort of a regional sports league with schools from both states at the time.

The MPSA changed its name in 2009 to the Mississippi Association of Independent Schools (MAIS), which renamed itself the Mid-South Association of Independent Schools the day Central Private departed.[5]

I was on a basketball team in 6th grade. Bunch of white dudes playing on a team in a BR league. We got smoked every single game lol. One time we got beat like 60-3 lol. It was awful and I never played basketball again after that season.

Some guys I know played local rec league basketball put on by one of the bigger churches that has a gym. They offer a “competitive” and “non competitive” league. They get a big head and go for the competitive league. Week 1 opponent has a guy on the team who is in the G-League. His teams first trip down the court is a highlight-worthy alley oop off the backboard. The next hour is them getting absolutely dragged in front of their wives, who came to watch.

I played on a baseball team that won like 2 district games the entire time I was there. We were awful. And the sad thing is there was a lot of talent the first couple years. 4 guys ended up playing college and I think more could have made JUCO type teams. We were just horribly coached and the team just never came together. By the time I was starting, we had the same issues and a lack of talent
.

I played for a team that was undefeated in Class C softball.
We played a Class A team in a tourney and lost 29-0.
Class A softball is where you find former pro athletes and high performing college players.

First year of organized sports, basketball. A bunch of 7 year olds that had never played a second against teams that had at least a few 8 year olds with some experience. Lost every game by 30. Definitely learned to lose before learning to hate it so much.

Yes, been playing rugby since high school, and play any sport long enough and you're going to be on the shite end of things every so often.
Worst was probably playing Life University in college. This was one of the first years that they played Division 1 College Rugby as previously they were restricted to playing as a D1 Men's Club. We were a Top 10 team then but the difference between a club side and a full varsity program is too much. Kept it close in the 1st half, then ran out of gas.
Been on the receiving end on a few lopsided scores playing against a certain men's club who will play professional players against us occasionally.

Our coach scheduled Jackson Prep for homecoming and they beat us something like 66-7
I got my only career INT and immediately fumbled after getting absolutely destroyed by a guy who ended up in the SEC
Crowd went wild when we scored that TD with seconds left in the 4th though

I went to a small private school in central Mississippi. Played basketball, baseball and football. One game I do recall my sophomore year in football, I was playing defensive back against another small school from Natchez that had one really good particular running back. Well midways bout the second quarter said running back runs around the end on a toss sweep and I take off for him. I went in for the tackle and my outside linebacker was right beside me at the time of impact and tripped me and my head hit the running backs middle thigh and I got my first concussion and had to come out of the game. They ended up killing us my sophomore and junior year because of that one player. Luckily we didn't have to play them again my senior year.
But that running back later signed with LSU and went on from there to the patriots.
Good times.

I was JV at this point, but my HS football team played Dutchtown when York, Eddie Lacey and Eric Reid were all on the team. Rough night.
