Ever Been In a Car Wreck

12 years ago I had a head on collision in a major intersection. I was driving a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I had just left the ATM to go meet some friends. This wasn't far from where my friends were hanging out. The light turned yellow and I sped up and slammed head on to a car turning left. Like a HS idiot I was not wearing my seat belt. The airbag went off saving me from serious injury. The only injury was a knee injury. I was able to open my door and walk out. I can't believe the airbag still worked since it was a 98 model. Just realized how lucky I was. Thank you Jeep.

12 years was the magic number to wait and let us know. For sure.

This seems like a thing you should do on Twitter.

Yes, two major ones.
In 2012 we were ran off the road by an illegal. I hit a telephone pole, and did about $6K damage to my car. He was arrested and let go because there were no other witnesses.
In 2015, we were sideswiped by a drunk driver, he turned my truck and I went off the road and into a tree. My wife an I spent over 3 months in PT for that one.
If you ever wonder why I'm against illegals and drinking/distracted driving, now you know.

When I was 13 or so, we were going home from the store and as we were going around a turn another car came all the way over in our lane and hit us head on. The damn woman admitted that she was looking down, lighting her cigarette.

The worst are drinking/distracted illegals. Menace to the highways.

When I was 7 we were on our way to a family reunion - there was a downpour and we were on a freshly-oiled road. Went around a sharp curve and slid off the road and down the side of a wooded hill/mountain (we were in WV). The car rolled several times and landed on its roof. Somehow my parents, sister, & I escaped with only a few minor cuts and scratches. We had to climb up the side of the hill. When we made it back to the road the old lady who lived in the house across the street saw us and the first words out of her mouth were, “You took out my mailbox!”

5.
Haven't had one in about 12 years though.
Worst, totaled a 1998 Grand Cherokee. Taxicab broadsided me doing about 45-50.
Least, someone hit my car while trying to take a right. Little thug POS got a ticket then tried to hide it from his parents. Then tried calling me to work out a deal so they didn't find out.

1 minor- my fault- failure to yield
1 major- other driver’s fault-failure to yield
Both in high school. Luckily, no injuries to myself in either.

Following a ' vette to close on I-85. It ran over 18" piece of 3 x 3 steel angle that went airborne and hit my windshield parallel driver-side eye level. When it hit it turned the windshield to powder and bounced off.
Strangest thing, when it angle emerged into view, i could see it spinning in slow motion.
Pulled into median, a friend happened to pass by about 5 min later. He had a pack of Marlboro Reds. I smoked the first in one drag.

Yep and I’ve got metal in me as a result.

Yep. A pretty bad one when I was about 6. We were broad-sided by a large sedan that made the van we were in flip on its side.
I had PTSD for about a year after that crash. I still remember almost every detail from it too. Still have a scar above my right eye from a shard of glass hitting me.
Also I was on the side of the van that the sedan hit, so for a few weeks I had a large bruise down my leg where the interior of the van got pushed into me.
Crazy to think that no one was seriously hurt from that accident.

I got t boned and rolled 3 times down a hill into a small creek landing upside down. I didn’t get hurt, just knocked stupid. Everything in the vehicle becomes a flying projectile when you roll. I saw Interstellar in theatres a few days before. The cab was crushed, it was pitch dark, and hanging upside down in my seat the only lights I could see were my console buttons. I thought I was in a spaceship for about 5 minutes lol

When I was 16 I was clipped on the driver side of my truck and spun into a pine tree that essentially collapsed the driver side door and cab. No joke, the exact same accident killed my cousin a few months earlier. It happened on a Monday and I went to football practice on tuesday. It was insane that I wasn’t injured or killed.

HS friend and me took a curve to sharp and his truck rolled into its side lucky for us it was very muddy so we just slid down a ditch and into a field taking out a large section for fence. Several cows got out.
Got rear ended on 90 close to Lafayette
Rear ended a older guy at a stop sign. It was late at night and I was going to do a country rolling stop. Guy was sitting at the stop sign, truck off, no lights, asleep from to much hooch. Knocked him and myself through the intersection. Knocked my bumper off. No airbags.

I have been told this frequently by firefighters...they tell me that very often, occupants of vehicles that roll are killed by flying objects in the vehicle. Make sure everyone in your vehicle is buckled up or their body flailing about will kill you in an accident.

8 car pileup at i12/pinnacle pkwy. No airbag deployed. Broken neck, face cut open, busted mouth, all caused by the steering wheel. Always always wear your seatbelt. You never know when something is going to go sideways on you. It’s been three years almost, and still every single car that’s coming towards me I watch until the last second, afraid they’re going to cross the center line. Idk if that feeling is ever going to leave.

I’m pretty concious about what I keep loose in the cab now. Damn socket wrenches in center console and boots on passenger floor kept pummeling me, it’s not something you think about
