Just got word from TCEQ that my LA licenses will transfer to what I need in TX, so I’ll be moving to the Euless/FW area in the next month or so. My wife has an aunt in Coppell, but other than that, we know little to nothing about the area. Looking to live in Euless/Eastern FW/Keller/Watauga/North Richland Hills area. I know we have a lot of people around there that post, so any suggestions or opinions are welcomed.

One of the guys that interviewed me said he lived in Keller, and he has kids that are college aged now. He told me the schools there are very good, but honestly I haven’t looked yet. I just got word on my licenses about an hour ago, but I wanted to start this thread and come back and check it..

Southlake if you can afford it (this is the OT so probably no issue). Otherwise Grapevine, Colleyville, or Coppell if you need to be near the airport.

There are some parts of Keller which are high priced but I really don't know that area too well.

they're pretty good, facilities are more like a JUCO, no crime, just about anything you'd need is close by, and the rest of the metroplex easily accessible

Oakhurst would be a good option if you want to be in Fort Worth. It’s a cute little neighborhood just outside (NE) of downtown, and the Race Street area is being revitalized so there are exciting things happening over there. It’s one of the areas I would have considered buying a house if I was still there.

pretty good range of pricing for available housing, what gets you here is property taxes, the bulk of which go to the school district, Grapevine is a little better on the taxes, nice little town too

Get ready for having a lot more money in your wallet by moving to TX.

No state income tax, amazing schools so no need to pay private school tuition, car insurance is 1/2, electric is much cheaper, water is cheaper, housing construction related costs cheaper.

Unless you are from the island of Tonga, you will not fit in living in Euless.

property taxes will dwarf that

Not really, its really a break even for most, but a lot of people come out a little ahead. Much of the property taxes goes back to funding amazing schools.

Electric bill savings alone is $1,000+

One of my best friends lives in Euless, between 360 & 121. Great place and they are just inside of whatever school district is the shizzy in that area (bought the house 10-15 years ago and values have skyrocketed). It's a really nice area.

Try to find something nice as close to your job as possible because traffic can be a beast.

been a while since I've lived in LA but when I left income tax was 3%, so I might be wrong on that but when I moved from FL to TX my property taxes doubled, agree that if you have school aged kids you are benefitting from that

that is reasonable here, no question

Great options.

Avoid it like the plague! Terrible, terrible traffic due to being awkwardly situated too far from all the highways.

euless is nice. very family oriented. they have a great park for tennis, basketball, exercising, etc. also a community pool that's very clean and great place to take kids during the summer.

i don't know enough about the rest to really comment, except for White Settlement. Don't go there, it's really trashy. unless you like trashy.
