Worst thunderstorm I can recall going through in years. Unreal lightning and wind.

quote:

SUMMARY...Cluster of intense supercells has finally begun to accelerate to the southeast and should evolve east-southeast across northeast Texas and the Ark-La-Tex area overnight. Embedded bowing structures will be capable of significant severe wind swaths. The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 70 statute miles north and south of a line from 60 miles southwest of Paris TX to 60 miles northeast of Shreveport LA. For a complete depiction of the watch see the associated watch outline update (WOUS64 KWNS WOU3).

Power is out, can see some branches down. Think the worst of it missed here.

Really bad here. Saw a bunch of green lightning. Wife was freaking out for an hour and a half.

Power out here in Longview, Tx. We got water in the bedroom, drainage in courtyard couldn’t handle the torrential rain. Plugged shop vac into inverter in truck, didn’t work, blew fuse. Ended up soaking water up with 30+ beach towels, wringing out and doing again. Looks like we survived. Haven’t seen that much rain and wind since hurricane blew North from Houston several years ago. Locked and loaded.

Yep. Somebody left the door to the garage open and it’s hot as balls in the house with no power. Not sleeping tonight I guess. Could always be much worse than that. Sorry Salmon

We are the only house on our power line and the lines are down all over the driveway. I was checking damage and saw the lines.

I caught the far south end of that line. Rain and wind pretty hard for about 30 minutes. Quiet now with power out for the third time this week.

I’m just east of Bossier. I was having Hurricane Gustav flashbacks from my Baton Rouge days. The wind was unreal.

Looks like this beast of a squall isn't going to burn itself out anytime soon...

I’m sitting in the dark, listening to water trickle inside my house.

I had 2 trees fall on the backside of my house. Living room, master bedroom, master bath, laundry room, and middle bathroom and back porch are totaled.

That was the most intense wind I’ve ever seen, and I sat through Laura and Gustav in central LA.

The amount of lightning in this thing has been insane. Is it even a derecho or just a wind bag? Crazy weather. I hope everyone is okay and can quickly recover

What do you think? Is it a tear down at this point?

Are there any rooms not exposed to rain you can use to stage valuables that aren’t damaged/ruined?

What’s the size/circumference of the two?

The front part of the house is fine. The back half is a complete rebuild though.

Both of the trees are huge. 100 year old trees.

Just drove around a good part of Shreveport, power's out everywhere. Saw line crews and emergency vehicles out assessing but given what I saw while helping to clear Norris Ferry there's going to be a lot of people not going anywhere in the morning.

You'd be surprised what they can rebuild. I was renting a house when Sally came through Mobile and dropped an 80 ft Water Oak slap through the middle of the house. No clue how I survived. I was sitting in the couch and felt like I needed to go in the back and 20 seconds later, it felt like a bomb went off. Tree landed right where I was sitting. I would've never thought that house was fixable, but I was driving by a few months after the stone and it looks as good as new.

Just got the alerts in Jackson. Entergy crews were on my street all week clearing branches away from lines so hopefully we keep power. Hopefully.
