Gabapentin.

PT.

YouTube: Stretch piriformis. Supine Nerve Glides. Hopefully those two will give you relief until you can get in somewhere.

Doctors won't fix your sciatica but they can sell you a bunch of stuff for it.

If you want to fix it you can do reverse hypers and hanging leg raises every day.

This 100%. Doctors are just going to get you on a medication with side effects. Do what this guy says for actual relief. It's a road but it works for chronic pain, especially the food aspect.

Sciatica is due to a nerve being compressed. It’s either compressed coming out of your back or being compressed somewhere else along its path. You need to figure out where it’s compressed and then do stretches/exercises to free up the nerve. Find a good physical therapist to evaluate your condition and figure out what works for you. Meds will help the symptoms but won’t fix the problem.

1. At least 30 days of an NSAID used consistently, irrespective of whether you're feeling good, bad, or indifferent. It can be Meloxicam, Ibuprofen, Naproxen...whatever. Use it consistently. This isn't so much for pain relief, but rather to bring down the overall level of inflammation.

2. Physical therapy. Complete at least 12 sessions in 5 weeks or less.

If you have an active lower extremity radiculopathy, then the aforementioned methods won't be curative - but they can help your symptoms. However, conservative therapy such as this is generally required for insurance companies to approve any kind of lumbar decompression.

So, get started on the above, get a new MRI of the lumabar spine, and book an appointment with a neurosurgeon. By the time you walk through the doors on your visit, you'll have knocked out the the NSAID/PT requirement and can then move on to either decompression options or a potential epidural.

Expect steroid injections in the nerve if it does not improve.

Stop sitting so much. Look up piriformis syndrome and do the nerve flossing mentioned above.

I’m on week 3 and still laid up. Pain is far less but can only stand/walk for short periods. Can’t lay on my back. Have to lay with my feet on the floor. Can’t sit either.

Hoping it clears soon. shite sucks.

I have it bad. I do about 10 minutes of stretching each night. Hold each stretch for 30 seconds. I also add in plantar fasciitis stretches, planks and push ups, I only hold each movement 30 seconds (each side if applicable).

I don't do these exactly, but they are a good start. Do them every night. Stretches

It will take a couple of days to work, do not miss a night. Stretching is very effective for me.
