20 years ago the traffic in BR was awful. I assume 20 years from now it will still be awful.

I agree but at least you got Acadian close by.

If I needed to get over to corporate I’d just go down Acadian from campus and go through valley park.

Essen has been shite since the 90s. They always try to fix it somehow and it just seems to get worse. They need to relieve pressure somehow with other roads.

Why did they make the side heading to Staring more lanes than the side heading to the interstate?

I’ve said for years the two worst roads are Essen and College. What did my dumbass self do? Bought a house between the two of them.

Isn’t it 3 lanes both ways? I’m pretty sure it’s only 4 lanes going south in places where there’s a “right turn only” lane - which makes sense because of the hospital traffic from the interstate.

Unless it’s changed since the last time I drove through there. I avoid it like the plague nowadays.

From Essen to the interstate is always much worse then the other way (to Perkins). No matter the time of the day

The traffic in Baton Rouge alone makes it shittier (imo) than New Orleans

After spending six months there I don’t understand how people live there and deal with that kind of insane traffic every single day of their lives.

It would drive me crazy.

They need to eminent domain a road from Perkins > interstate that runs parallel between Essen and College starting at Pennington Bio. There is nothing there really besides the LSU rural life museum.

I’ve had jobs on Picardy near Essen for a year or so, bluebonnet was always the escape route but now they have Jefferson all blocked off and traffic backs up to 10. Today i got completely stuck, fought my way on to 10 and went all the way to highland to go around that shitshow and the seigen mess

Baton Rouge is the worst place on earth

Came here to say this. It will not improve. Only way to get out of BR traffic is to move!

You’re right. I moved from Baton Rouge to Bossier City. Traffic is so much better, even in Shreveport.

Good lord man. Ever been to Atlanta, Houston, Dallas, anywhere in New England. Traffic is a way of life unless you live in Wyoming or the like. Crazy how a lot of people on the road at the same time leads to traffic.
