I could be misreading it, but I interpreted it as them doing away with those open positions along with the 300 active employees.
Correct. That means that the people who are left now have to collectively do the job of 500 other people on top of their own jobs.
Time to polish up those resumes!

People don't watch sports to get political opinions. It's entertainment, an escape from all of that. There are already plenty of 24/7 news channels.

Sounds like the payroll was a bit bloated if they can still operate with 500 less employees.

I'm pretty sure the deserving bunch are still getting paid while Hank in stats is getting the ax and won't be putting any food on his family's table next week.

Too many high priced announcers and involving themselves into TDS politics are killing them.

Once a great institution that went pinko.
They deserve to go extinct.

Maybe, just maybe they should focus on sports and not political commentary.

Since I was in high school, ESPN has typically been a station I went to bed with on. I woke up and turned it to ESPN. ESPN was my background noise. At some point if I remember correctly they only had 3-4 shows and they were just on repeat the rest of the day. And THAT WAS TOTALLY OK. I like sports. ESPN was the “mindless” release from the stress of the real world. Then somewhere along the way displaying the stress of the real world and digging into its depths like a damn therapist became their MO. It was exhausting to even have on. I barely watch it anymore.

I don’t watch ESPN anymore and if I could torture Max Kellerman I would. I would take his eyes out with a spoon.

I'd rather eat mayo than watch ESPN
