Crescent? Are you in PE?

I live in Las Colinas and the crescent is about 15-20 minutes avoiding traffic.

If you are catholic and look at Las Colinas The Highlands School is a very good catholic school. PM me for more on either.

Please don't be one of those carpetbaggers who moves away from an area to the South because of liberal policies... yet votes in the new area to institute the same liberal policies that forced you to flee in the first place.

You're a fellow Vol so I doubt this is the case.

Is Uptown.

Where you live depends on the order of things that you value. School district, home value, location, commute, etc.

Congrats!

There are things I miss about Chicago but still happy I left 6 years ago.

And even with all the recent tax increases, nothing is fixed or even better. The poop has not even come close to hitting the fan in that city/state.

Born and raised in TN - only been in Chicago for 2 years.

We have 2 votes to offset the immigration from California.

Not bad! We will look there.

Quickly looking at the map for areas to research:

- Lake Highlands / NE Dallas
- Richardson
- North Dallas
- Las Colinas
- Valley Ranch

Congrats on the move and to chime in with little new information, the area around Frisco is amazing. You will experience a nice boost in living provided that your income stays relatively the same as Chicago.

It is a consumer's dream and a great place to conduct business. Lots of competition for whatever you need, so prices are competitive. Great schools and a great university system and no state income tax is what draws most to the great state of Texas.

Countless day trips and weekend getaways, and this is the perfect time of year for that.

Seems like you would've done research on the place you were moving to before making a life altering change.

Luckily, Dallas is about as bland as you can get. He should have no problems adjusting.

Dallas isn't Orlando my dude.

If he is working out of The Crescent he needs to be in a leased Range Rover, an Armani suit, and clean shaven.

I would suggest living in the Greenland Hills area, Lakewood, or one of the Park Cities.

This would be a good spot. That area has been booming for the last couple of years. I work very close to that area.

Rule 1: Don’t come into a Tex-Mex restaurant and ask the waiter one at a time, whether multiple things on the menu are spicy.

Congrats and welcome!

Have been in Allen since 2002. Both kids graduated Allen High School and now at TCU and Baylor.

Texas is great place to raise a family.

Hotter than hell in the summer though.

No State income taxes but property taxes are high.

Wife is a realtor specializing in the Allen/Frisco/McKinney area so PM me if you are looking in those areas.

If you don't mind private schools I would recommend Lakewood. 10 min commute vs 1 hour.

Me too. We should connect. Valley Ranch is pretty good and almost as easy as LC.

Irving/Las Colinas can be hit or miss on the neighborhoods but the right neighborhoods are very good.

If you think that Dallas is a place to escape corrupt politics, you are just getting a different type of corruption. Dallas area turning purple quickly.

Personally I would have opted for Nashville or Charleston area
