Wait, if there’s no such thing as gender then what are they arguing for?

About a dozen posters have referenced the men's world cup prize money and payouts as if it's in any way relevant to the discussion.

Unless you’re talking about a one time bonus for winning the World Cup, it’s certainly relevant.

My question is will they be ok with pay based of revenue when the men inevitably begin outearning them again?

They are paid based off of what the women’s World Cup brings in...money is divided up between countries I believe Obviously that amount is significantly less than the men This doesn’t include endorsements obviously, let them go bitch at woke arse Nike I guess

The women also get paid whether they play or not. And get health insurance. They’re basically salary employees

The men are basically independent contractors and only get paid if they play.

I don’t know why this is so how hard for people to find or understand, but the women’s team has made more money for the US Soccer Federation (who pays the salaries for both teams) than the men’s team has over the last cycle.

No its not because that isn't controlled by the US Soccer Federations, which is who the players are suing.

I also don't understand how hard it is to understand that they also signed a Collective Bargaining Agreement enumerating how they would be paid.

Well post the stats of money Brought in by the men vs the women. There is a major difference, hence disparity in earnings.

Are you arguing they should get paid the same despite that?

If the girls are bringing in more revenue, they deserve to be paid more. If they are brining in less, I don't know how you could argue they should be getting paid the same. That is not how it works unfortunately.

So you’re OK with “equal pay” when the men are bringing in more money but not vice-versa?

Onviously the frderation still feels that male soccer players are worth more than women. That’s a pretty simple concept.

I understand facts are hard for some people, but a really quick internet search could show you how wrong you are before you post.

No. Are any athletes that collectively bargain ever happy with their share of revenue or how much they get paid? What needs to be done is sit down and figure out what is right and reasonable, not turn this into some stupid ideological political debate, which both sides of the issue are guilty of.

And when you all are comparing women’s team vs. men’s team, are you only looking at US?

Shouldn’t we be comparing the revenue the champions of each league generate to keep it apples to apples?

I find it interesting that you would bring up the WNBA in a soccer thread.
