About a dozen posters have referenced the men's world cup prize money and payouts as if it's in any way relevant to the discussion.
Seems the female team brought up the mens pay.
I'm no soccer fan, but I know the mens world cup is important to a lot of foreign people. Whichever team brings it home, deserves that cash. Its every 4 years too so, it's a rare feat which factors in.
Womens sports dont promote themselves well. WNBA doesnt make stars people want to watch on tv. This team and team usa gymnastics during Olympics (before it went to shite) are about the biggest push they get in media every 4 years. If they had a way of making things more competitively interesting, more people would watch..therefore more money coming in for all.

So you’re OK with “equal pay” when the men are bringing in more money but not vice-versa?
How often will they want to reevaluate their pay? Why are you dodging the question?

Onviously the frderation still feels that male soccer players are worth more than women. That’s a pretty simple concept.
It doesn't make it right.
The women shouldnt make as much as the men if the men make more money, it's pretty simple. That doesn't disqualify the possibility of the women not being paid fairly.
But as always let's make it an either yes or no decision where there is absolutely no gray area.

Yea it is, which is the basis of the entire conversation. Why?

Again, none of this is relevant to the discussion being had.

Because they bring more in most of the time.

Stuff like this I think would be a doorway for people-of-the-mainstream to get into some underground info.
The first official 'feminist' was an admitted CIA operative.
It's admitted that the CIA funded feminist magazines and financially and coercively pushed for more woman in the workplace.
Why?
To further separate children from their parents, putting them in the hands of the state sooner and for longer hours.
To add tax revenue from working women.
To create yet ANOTHER firm line in the sand of division.
Men/women, black/white, christian/muslim, jews/everyone else, north/south, east/west and so on.

The only reason there are women’s sports at the collegiate level is because they are being subsidized by the money brought in by men’s sports.
If they want true equality, how about the different women’s collegiate programs fund themselves individually?

Not much to argue here. Guy is spot on.

This is the reason we're even good at womens soccer. They won't like this point.

Most people in here aren’t understanding that there’s way more to men’s international soccer than the World Cup and that’s why they generally generate so much more revenue. Women’s international soccer is pretty much every four years with some friendlys and guaranteed win qualifiers sprinkled in.

quote:No because revenue is a secondary if not irrelevant metric when talking about compensation. The employer will always pay the least amount he can to get the talent he needs for the particular position. Whether women make more than men doesn’t really matter if the employer has to pay men a certain wage to attract the talent it needs.
Shouldn’t we be comparing the revenue the champions of each league generate to keep it apples to apples?
Industries lose money all the time on salaries to people who probably don’t deserve as much as they make but due to market forces the company is still required to overpay them just to have the required number of employees to do a particular job. Then they have to make that loss up somewhere. In this particular case it appears they’re making that loss up by paying women less.

How about you talk about what's being discussed?
***we'll disregard the objective of intercollegiate athletics

Seems like you’d be comparing the revenue brought in by each employee for their employer.

No not really, like at all
Posted on 7/7/19 at 5:37 pm to Mingo Was His NameO
So we should compare men’s and women's revenue on a global scale for FIFA, but “no not at all” for men’s and women’s revenue in America for the only people that sign their paychecks?

My question is will they be ok with pay based of revenue when the men inevitably begin outearning them again?
We don’t frequently agree, but this guy’s argument makes no sense at all

He wants a permanent pay increase for a temporary streak of winning

For about the hundredth time, the men didn't make the fricking world cup. Seriously, how hard is that to understand?
The men in a level of competition vastly beyond what the women's team plays in. You stupid, ignorant hack. The USWNT has funding and access to facilities and training way beyond most of their competition. Thrashing a Thai team that is under the patronage of an insurance executive with players that are also company employees is not quite the same as playing against teams with heavy government backing and drawing on a huge domestic talent pool. USMNT is playing against Brazilian players that are practically national heroes, playing against teams where national talent and funding is deep. The USWNT is playing against teams that are often little more than second thoughts. Such a stupid argument from you but with your level of ignorance and poor education it's typical.
