What a joke!!! That;s what happens when you shut down the coal plant that supplied cheap string base load power and start taking bribes to relay on weak and unreliable solar farms.

There should be people on trial for this.

When the CEO sets his thermo to 82 in his office and home, I’ll think about it.

Looking at putting in a 14kw solar array to offset some of our electricity costs, looks like I might need to go bigger. That would provide 100% of our needs for all the months not June-August, it would only cover 1/2 in July... big spike that month.

This is going to become more common. Generation deployment is about to get kicked in the nuts with this new tax bill.
Do you think people care about this? They’re driving Wagoneers and $80k trucks at 84 month notes. Look around. People spend money like it’s water on so much nonsense.

This is the way. 78 during the day. Stay outside most of the time. Down at night.

Comfortable. But I'm also not a fattie.

When I went in July '19 folks there (Anchorage) and Vancouver were bigly mad because it was 85f. It was sticky but like a sunny May day sticky down here.

My AC stays on 78. It’s 100 degrees outside. 78 is plenty cool enough coming in from working in the shop.

In May I had to replace my AC unit. I was without AC for several days (it was memorial day weekend when the power went out). I had two window units in until the new one was put in. One was in my bedroom and between the nose of the window until and putting it down really low, I slept like a baby.

Ever since then I thought about putting a window unit in two different areas so that at night for example, I could just run the window unit. I would adapt, but it would take me awhile to get used to sleeping with it 78 degrees.

Here in Central Arkansas we lose our entergy power every time it rains or the wind blows.

I feel like these notices apply to people with electric bills over 200 bucks. The type of people that have three people living in a house with 10 rooms and a climate control garage.

My house stays 68 degrees. I work outside so when I come home I am get hit with an arctic blast. My power bill never goes over 200.

That doesn’t seem right with a new unit. Unless your insulation is bad. Maybe have attic insulation checked. Mine is the same sitting high 70s until sun sets and was replaced during lockdown. So I need to have insulation checked.

At least they’ll have something to sit in and get some a/c when the power is out or they can’t afford to run the home a/c because electricity is 50c/kWh

This. I can deal with whatever during the day, but I've always liked it cold at night. Nothing like fresh, cold air breezing through. I'll tent camp no matter how cold it is...in Arkansas, not Alaska.

I keep mine at 77 and upstairs is 80 because no one lives there for now. If you need less than that you probably need to lose some weight.

How does it feel to move to texas and not be able to afford to run your AC?

I want you to know I lit a fire a while back in the fireplace with the AC running because I wanted to watch horror movies with the only ambient lighting being a fire.
