It is more complex than that depending on the social media site.

It was a failure on all levels of government.
In some ways Katrina removed a lot of dysfunction at the local level considering the shape the public school system was in.

The state dropped the ball as well.

Meanwhile the federal government was incompetent and useless.

It took a fleet of local boats from local people to go in and rescue people.

Just goes to show you better not be relying on the city, state and federal governments in disaster situations as it continues to play out over and over again on top of those that come in to defraud people as well yet we can send billions to Ukraine.

Haha. They are trying to crowd us with these types of shows as the narrative is shifting quickly these days. This particular group has defrauded the country time and time again. Time to pay up.

It won’t work. The pendulum is swinging hard this time.

Reap what you sow.

It was a product of government design. By design government is not meant to be quick and nimble. Throwing billions at the problem will never make it that way.

It does not help that expectations of flawless operations is unattainable even at a private level.

In 20 years, New Orleans has gone from Hurricane Katrina to Political Katrina.

Just need a competent leader and everything will be fixed. Saints Super Bowl is more likely.

Coolidge was right. Why should people in California pay for the morons who keep moving back into a hurricane zone below sea level? Same reasons people in Louisiana shouldn't have to pay for California to rebuild after fires they could've controlled with just a little forest mangement.

The FedGov needs to be out of the natural disaster industry period.

Amen. So tired of hearing about this. Clearly we haven't learned our lesson with regard to NOLA government. Not suurprising though.

The first streets repaved in NOLA due flooding where those which never flooded in Uptown

Then there is the over $100 million in Fed funds for Sewerage and Water Board to upgrade left on the table to expire.

There's definitely a story to be told in terms of unspent and wasted Katrina rebuilding funds. The Municipal Auditorium is still just sitting there and the corresponding funds never spent, as a prime example.

I’m more worried about the all the stuff we rebuilt and the wrong demographics are still moving to the parish. I haven’t heard anything about the MRGO
