You are right. I was wrong. Thinking of the conoco Phillips refinery that shut down on belle chasse. That refineries daily output alone added to that 4% probably wouldn’t make much difference I. The big picture

They want the oil companies to invest, produce more, and then close down. These people are nuts.

during the early part of Covid, i remember reading about a guy who had a company that made N95 masks in DFW area and he was asked about ramping up production in light of the need and he said no.

when ebola or something else came out years before the government called on him to ramp up protection. he invested in more staff, equipment, and hours. after the outbreak had passed, everybody went back to buying Chinese and he had to lay off his new staff and eat the cost of the new equipment that wasn't needed now. he wasn't going to lose people jobs when he knew he'd be screwed in a couple of years.

the WH is basically saying, we've called you bastards and made your life a living hell for 2 years, but we need you to do your patriotic duty and make this look less bad for us but after it's over we're going to go back to try and ruin you.

Wish every US refiner would go down “for maintenance” then they’ll be back in the drivers seat.

What they don’t realize is that big oil is leading the way in investing in clean energy. They fund that with OG money. The difference between O&G companies and this shitshow of of an administration is that O&G have a scaled plan to get there and the admin just has words and pain with no plan. Failing to plan is planning to fail.

Which one of the talking heads say this because this is often repeated?

I know there is nothing that will convince you Trump cult members any different, but Trump is a manipulative con artist who doesn't give a frick about no one but himself. He just knows what to tell people like you to get you more committed to him than anything else.

Did you donate to buy him a new plane or donate to sign his birthday card? His son was offering people the opportunity to pay to sign a birthday card.

You don't get it. And when I hear people repeat the same phrase then it lets me know that you just repeat what you hear. Donald Trump... Not the Republican party (although I don't agree with the two party system) is a fricking problem.

Thing needs to speak for itself. Who's this we? You want solar, wind, and electric cars....go for it. I am happy with and still want gasoline and diesel, as does the majority of the population I would guess. That's the liberal media way....say what they want as though their view is representative of the majority, in reality we all know its not. 81 million votes from far less than 81 million voters proved that.

I guess they put the cart before the horse. Putting dumbass regulations in place to make oil production harder, then telling the country you will have no need for oil and gas in a few years. Now demanding oil and gas to produce more. What a bunch of stupid dumbasses!!

We have an Energy Secretary with ZERO experience in the energy secotr and this quote demonstrates why that's so damn dangerous. FFS you can't even get a significant refinery expansion permitted in five years, much less planned, procured, built.

She has no idea how CAPEX is created, funded, how long these types of projects take, nor pay back. Completely incompetent and clueless. We not only elected an idiot for president. We got an entire cast of idiots throughout the government.
