This is especially true when you work for a family owned business. There is the "we are all a family here" family, and then there is the real family.

I'd say you are a socialist cuck looking for a handout. The majority of the workers you see on social media complaining about this aren't in high level sales bringing in big business. Those people should be rewarded or go to the competition. These people are mostly low level or mid level office workers who can be replaced in a day or two and way overvalue their contribution.

There was a study done years back that showed employees were willing to stay later and do more work when the employer provided food occasionally, specifically pizza. I think the study was in computer programmers at Microsoft but I could be wrong. Anyway, other companies started doing the same thing, people caught on and now it's a meme for corporate manipulation, smarminess or greed for not paying their employees better. Keep in mind the programmers were well payed.
TLDR: study finds that people are willing to stay late and work extra if their employer provides a food that they like. Companies take that common sense data point the wrong way and get eye rolls from employees that see through BS.

Did the pizza come from "Pizza by Alfredo" or from "Alfredo's Pizza Cafe"?

There's a big difference.

If the guys in the warehouse have been busting their arse hard for me (I work outside sales) I will absolutely buy all of them lunch. They do appreciate it.

lol because I expect an employer (private entity) to compensate its employees to a fair level, that means I’m a socialist? Are you legitimately fricking retarded?

“Why can’t we keep anyone here?” “Why are we always understaffed?”
“Why aren’t employees loyal anymore?”

As an employee, not a fan of these events. It feels like "forced fun", that you have to attend.

I'd rather organically hang out with office friends, with who I want to hang out with. Outside of office hours.

Short of giving me more money to show your appreciation, which I think everyone would prefer, I’m down for anything that wastes more time from the workday.

What does suck are after hours company get togethers. Like a company wide holiday party at a restaurant or something. I see enough of you fricks during the day, having to show up after hours for a function drives me crazy.

Is it better than nothing yes, but offer them $10 bonus or any cash instead…I bet most would take the cash.

Many in society today think if they do their job well/adequately they deserve an extra financial reward.

That is exactly how executive pay works and they make 2000x what the people that actually work make.

Only difference is when they completely frick the company up, they fail upward to another executive role while the rank in file gets laid off

I don’t do pizza parties, but I try to buy lunch once a month a breakfast once a month for my dept. unusually let them choose. Pizza, chick fil a , sandwiches. Whatever they want, just our dept hanging out and eating a free lunch. I am pretty sure they appreciate it.

Company moral boost and bonding while breaking bread with each other. I see nothing wrong with it

Who said this? It's just pizza. To think it's some slap in the face equally fkn ridiculous.

I've come to appreciate these things. Most of the time it's not pizza but on the boss lunches are great
