Is it really a public health crisis when you have a 98% chance of surviving?

It is when there are 3000 people in the hospital, and all the ICU beds are full all across the south.

What's your definition of a public health crisis? I'd love to know.

yup. you can tell him he’s wrong all day, but he’ll
justify it from his morality high horse. his next play is to say you wish harm on the innocent.

Well next time you break a leg, or end up in a car accident hopefully they can treat it on scene because you won't be able to find a hospital bed.

Pretty sure the dude that managed to get his truck airborne on Pete’s Hwy and smashed into Tim’s Engines this morning got carted off to a hospital. So they had at least one bed.

I still have yet to see any legitimate data on the state's pediatric population other than % of cases and tests positive.

We know the children's hospitals are running low on beds, which I don't doubt, but they need to give us better data like we have for the adults.

So the rest of our state has to deal with a public health crisis because people are assuming their own risks?

Obesity is more of a public health crisis in this state. Lets not let people go to the gym.

So lets not push healthy lifestyle. fricking bonkers.

it really is sad that this was the perfect time to really push physical health in this country and almost no one in power or organization bothered.

Sadder yet, they are pushing people to stay home and giving the population that falls into the least healthy category more SNAP dollars that promptly get spent on crap food while they sit around doing nothing.

No, they did nothing but make excuses for it

It’s sad when corporations dictate how you take care of your citizens

Coca Cola has spent over 3 million to lobbyists in 2021

WalMart would flip their shite if processed foods were no longer allowed to be purchased with SNAP benefits

. @LouisianaGov says of the debate over masks in schools and parents' arguments that it's up to them to decide about masks: "There is no right to unreasonably endanger the lives of others. That doesn’t exist. Rights under the Constitution are not absolute." #lalege #lagov

My kid just started kindergarten. He got a note home yesterday about having a meltdown about putting the mask on after recess or whatever they call it now (she made it sound like he wasn’t the only one).

We never have talked about masks to him other than you got to wear one once you go to kindergarten. But it isn’t natural and it affects kids. So what we have here is a subjective situation where costs benefit ought to be weighed. If you are going to make arguments that individual actions are not protected under absolute rights in the constitution, then you have to consider Government actions and their affect on others. Which ironically is why the constitution was written.

In other words

i'd actually be more inclined to go along to get along if the powers that be quit trying to see whose hypocritical bullshite fear porn could get them on the highest horse and instead also tagged in obesity and healthy living into this.

Instead, it's obviously a play by pharmaceutical companies to wring as much cash out of govt and the tax payer as they can.

Disagree? Examine how the pharma companies are keeping local channels near and far flooded with ad revenue while in exchange receiving exclusive positive stories with no skeptical or competing coverage.

the statement is ridiculous. Yes, the rights of US citizens are absolute per the Constitution! There is no fricking asterisk next to the Constitution. No clause saying, “well, if a pandemic were to occur…then x”.
