I just mark them all as read. I don't waste time deleting them.

At work I file everything away so I can search through 10+ years of emails easily.

I never delete emails. I do click them so that they show up as having been read. There are 24 unread emails buried somewhere deep in my personal inbox, so I can tell if I got something new if it shows more than that unread.

I can't remember the last time I deleted an email. I'm pretty sure I can search back to emails from freshman year of college (10+ years). I know a few years back I could.

Especially for work, I hate when emails get deleted (they clear out after 3 months if you don't archive them). It's a valuable resource to be able to search for previous communications.

Under 10

Something else that drives me crazy is when co-workers have a lot of icons on their desktop

Seriously? I don't have a single inbox, work or personal, that is over 20. Not one.

I sure as hell get bombarded but I trust the people working for me will take care of it. A couple of times a day I glance over all the conversations. If someone on my team responds I soft-delete the entire chain. I make a note to follow up with him later if needed.

You have to let someone else take care of it. If you have 1000 emails in your inbox, really only about 20-30 require your personal undivided attention and you probably already did that. Get rid of everything else.

same here. I rarely delete them. They remain in my inbox as "read" and can easily access old e-mails through a search.

If I don't need to see it again, it gets deleted immediately. I keep my inbox consistently around 5-10 emails.

Unread or total? I always read them immediately, but I don't delete anything. I have about 30k in my work inbox. It makes it easy to search key words or addresses for old emails I need to retrieve. I delete the BS ones.

Not sure how many are in my personal one. Still don't delete since storage is unlimited.

My Yahoo inbox simply says 9999+. I've been using that account for years signing up for any service that forces you to provide an email account for verification. My GMail account is used for legit purchases/correspondence, and has ~3600. I don't bother to delete emails.

ETA: Just saw Yahoo account = 17500. I've probably read ~200 of them.

0-10 for work, 10,000+ in personal. I don't think I've checked personal in 10+ years except to verify me email address.

I don't delete anything. Everything get categorized and archived. Inbox is always under 100 emails except when I am on vacation.

I delete the junk and always mark junk as blocked.
I file and archive all relevant emails. I've got about 14 years' worth stored.

I'm the same here. Nothing like coming back from a week off than having 200+ emails that all have to be read and responded too.

Been at my job five months and have 37k+. Have to keep about two months of them for reference and then delete anything older than that. Our office uses Barracuda which archives every single email if I need it.
