I bet whalers were mad when someone found oil in the ground.
Oil guys get touchy whenever new energy technologies come out.

Model 3 is a huge problem. The delay is more serious than the previous Teslas. It is also drawing attention to the fact that the Model 3 isn't breaking new ground and competitors are already on the market.

To his credit, he will probably sell every one of them that he can build. He just needs to figure out how to build them.

I like how Tesla doesn't even give you the full range potential of their cars unless you pay an additional fee

I just like how everyone treats him as if he's some sort of messiah that's doing this simply for mankind and not money

Sure it's for the money.
But at the same time it's occurs that he wants to innovate and push new boundaries.
I mean people worship a guy, whose real estate claim to fame, is buying adjoining properties and using threats of devaluing land to get land he wants cheaper. Yet berates this guy because he overpromises at times?

I’m not a big fan of the subsidies that tesla takes advantage of but if you aren’t impressed by what he has done with spacex then y’all are crazy. The guy is pushing the envelope and will undoubtedly go down in history as one of the best inovators of our time.

I get that and I'm not knocking him for it. It's just that the hero worship gets to be a bit much. Anyone who criticizes is automatically labeled as a cretin.

I don't like him because his company is grossly overvalued. Tesla isnt ahead of the game anymore in electric car technology. Toyata and other manufacturers are going to be putting cars out in the next 3-5 years while Musk and his minions are working on a quarter million dollar sports car. I think some of the stuff he does is innovative, but there's no doubt he hides behind a bunch of bullshite lies and promises too to keep the $$$ rolling in at a rediculous rate.

I honestly don't think musk gives a frick about the cars. He's got his sights set on doing something bigger with the batteries it appears

You can buy a Chevrolet Bolt right now that will go 250 miles per charge. They sold about 30,000 of them already.

I do think the Model 3 will be popular if he could ever build them.

There are always a lot of straw men in these Tesla threads.

So let's say that Tesla actually gets them built 2 years from now. Where is the Bolt? Is it now at 400 or 500 miles per charge? You have to assume it's going to be higher than the 250 it's at now. That's the uncertainty with Tesla yet their share price doesn't reflect that.

The Bolt will be on generation 2. The next generation Leaf will be out. The new Toyota and Mazda joint venture EV will be here.

It will be a crowded field by the time the 3 actually does meet production targets. They think it may get there by March or April, but I have my doubts about any deadline Musk promises to meet.

Interesting reason to not like someone. Not to mention that's just 1 of his companies.

This may be true but the equalizer is the supercharger system Tesla already has that Chevy does not.
