Imagine that we are just characters being "played" by some other being in the true reality. Imagine that this "game" is so legit, that once the being starts playing it, its actual memory is temporarily erased or blocked so that they mentally truly become us. Imagine that when we "die," the game simply shuts off and the being is restored to normal and simply disconnects from the game system. Would that mean that we are actually the being, or are we just a virtual being with no physical connection to the being who is playing us? Imagine that the time to play our lifetime is really just a day or two in the being's realm.

Won't matter. He's starting regular cargo shipments in 2018 and every 26 months thereafter. They'll be supplied.

That's not an argument, but okay.

What he is failing to account for is basic human evolution. We always take one step forward, and three steps back. The Romans were operating on people. Then the Middle Ages came roaring in, and people were shitting in the streets. We are just a likely to be living in stick huts again in a few hundred years.
Basically the timeline of all my parks in roller coaster tycoon or houses in the Simms
Start off small
grow the park
have fun designing everything
get bored
build a few tracks that jump off the rails into the food market
Delete all the trash cans and bath rooms
Close the exit
People are pooping everywhere
Anyone that complains get put in the lake
Get bored
Add trash cans and a new ride

I feel bad for whatever super-intelligent being is playing as my video game character.
They're probably really bored.

What if that being lives in an ugly world, or one where they have very little capacity for physical movement? They could be living in a heavy overpopulated, nasty world that's polluted and disgusting. To escape that world and come to "Earth" with all of it's natural beauty and freedom to roam and explore would be awesome.

To Whoever Created This Simulation:
Would you please adjust the program to be full of hot women, no STDs and a few billion in my bank account?
Thank you,
Neo

Gender identity issues would be explained. A woman playing the game as a man may naturally feel like she isn't really a man.
