You simply cannot say “up to 14 dead” based solely on hospitalized

and a few years ago, LEOs would have made him swiss cheese before he made it to school... now when they go passive....

About 70 miles from Del Rio. So not right on the border but close enough to where maybe there was a chase or like you said an apprehension attempt.

I agree that the "up to 14 dead" is misleading, but you also have to understand that several of those that are hospitalized may very well succumb to their injuries.

The headline should read "2 confirmed dead, 13 more hospitalized" but that doesn't quite catch the attention like "up to 14 dead."
