I'd guess some accurate timelines should be forthcoming today.
Hadn't realized that yesterday was an election day in Texas. No idea if that played into the shooter's twisted thinking. Kinda doubt it but who knows. Bet his computer will have a lot of insight.

Is this why he wrecked out? I haven't heard anything definitive about what happened after he killed his grandmother. I may be wrong but I think the elementary school wasn't his original target...I think the crash prevented him from going to his high school to do the shooting there....purely speculating though.

From LEO friend connected to the team that took the shooter down
Shooter was in a car chase with police. Believed to be related to the shooting of his grandmother
Shooter abandoned car and went into the school. Eventually Barricaded in classroom.
Shooter had an AK47 and was letting loose. Local LEOs pinned him down. BORTAC went in and took him out. Guy was holed up in closet. BORTAC took hits to helmets and other areas. Each of the four guys were hit with either bullets or shrapnel. All are ok. Gruesome scene

The team was about an hour away when the initial chase started. BORTAC hauled arse to get to scene
BORTAC is a very special team. No surprise the guy responded despite being off duty

They tried to stop him but its difficult because you don’t have time to lockdown everything in the path of a chase. The shooter had an AK. that’s awfully difficult to stop with a standard service weapon

Has the chase been confirmed? I’m seeing that the shooter had body armor also.

This is completely untrue. Tannerite has to be hit with a minimum of 2000FPS projectile. Which is your standard supersonic rifle round. Not a BB gun or slingshot.
