I said that this isn’t a situation like that.

The comment was in response to someone who couldn’t believe that the US government could do such a thing.

I just listed off a bunch of instances where the government admitted to doing such a thing for a particular goal.

Hell, that isn’t even addressing what the government has done to other nations’ populations.

Every world government has likely acted in such a way.

This event has nothing to do with the US government though.

It was one loan freak.

Good chance I know someone that was killed. I use to go dove hunting over there with a bunch of people from Uvalde. No word yet, but she has 3 small children. Fingers crossed.

19 year old ok? 18 year olds are adults, can vote, and some have to register for draft, so Biden should say what he means - why can any adult buy these guns instead of playing “kid” card for an 18 year old.

He just wants to focus on weapon instead of mental illness when mass shooter is not white and focus on white supremacy and weapon instead of mental illness when shooter is white. Hand gun maybe half number killed. Would Biden be good with that? Does he complain about hand gun purchases killing black kids across the country when blacks are shooters (yes i know probably gotten illegally which of course will still happen if a ban was implemented tomorrow)?

He is part of turning treating a long standing mental illness into being discrimination and forcing others to respect that illness as being as normal as biology. I don’t expect him to want to equitably address violence, mental illness, or personal responsibility across this country that doesn’t fit into Democrats quest for power.

If he had balls instead of blaming gun lobby he would support states calling for a “convention for proposing amendments” if he wants to push a real change in laws versus appointing judges who will just ignore constitution.

You want to change gun laws. Don’t play politics with it and make speeches you know are full of crap. You have to amend the constitution. There are somewhere around 30 states with an open call for a “Convention for proposing Amendments“. Get all issues from other states calling for it already while pushing more to join to get to 2/3s, and get to work on some common ground change that would pass requirements for ratification. We used to do it before we started pushing judges to do it for us.

Edit: if both gun owners and gun control supporters fear an attempt to add amendments to constitution which would still have to be supported by at least 38 states to be ratified and would rather keep either relying on judges or battling them as they change back & forth over the years then you will keep getting what you get now.
