We could try addressing why this happened instead of what was used to do it.

I know, I know. I'm asking a lot here.

Yeah, let's solve the surely logical mystery of why someone would gun down children so we can reason with the next Rhodes Scholar who has a hankerin' for murder.

Good talk.

don't have a solution, obviously, but of all the fricking things in the world to just shrug off, this seems like it should be near the bottom. I'm fine with trying just about anything at this point.

Maybe we start with not telling white kids that they are racist and minorities that the chips are stacked against them and they have no chance.

We are breeding disenfranchised youth and it’s leading to this.

Messaging matters.

Way to prove my point.

A bunch of emotional knee jerk reaction, with no interest in identifying and treating the cause.

You never had a point.

You're asking for a "why" to an insane and illogical scenario.

I’ve always found it absolutely astounding that a simple correlation to ‘higher amount of guns = higher amount of gun crime’ gets completely overlooked like it doesn’t exist or matter.

‘I’m a conservative responsible gun owner’ …. Brilliant.

Even the most ‘responsible’ gun owners are part of the problem. You just don’t need a gun… the introduction of guns is the problem.

If anyone says it’s not guns it’s the person, then you are also part of the problem.

Literally every other country doesn’t have this problem.

…absolutely there are incidences of this kind of shite happening elsewhere, but it’s so isolated… it happens once in a Blue moon.

This happens all the fricking time in America and it’s blatantly obvious to everyone else why it happens.

Correlation… if a lunatic has a knife because he can’t get a gun, he kills less people…guns are the problem, normalising having a gun is the problem.

The best comments are ‘ we need more security guards and armed teachers at schools’ Do you even fricking hear yourself talking?!

In my 40 year life we’ve had one mass school shooting over here…. One.
Nobody feels the need for guns…nobody feels schools need security guards.

This is solely a USA gun problem because of normalising gun owenership … correlation. More guns isn’t the answer.. more guns made the problem.

If this dude runs into the elementary school with a knife and every teacher has a gun and has been properly trained, then we have ONE death at that school today.

I’m sorry to tell you this but the world has some fricked up individuals in it and I will carry my weapon at all times because of it. You can kindly go frick yourself.

Yes exactly. It is worth it. I care more about my rights than I do a couple dozen kids in Uvalde. Sorry not sorry.

Doesn’t matter whose kids they are and where they’re from. This is a very, very shitty way to phrase your beliefs.

Bless your gullible heart. Do you know how the shooter was killed? You can come to the US and take the gun from my cold dead hands. Ask China, North Korea, and Venezuela how this is working out.

Yep… after walking into a school…with a gun… and shooting a bunch of children.

Gun ownership is clearly the winner you absolute clown.

There was also that guy that attacked a day care with a machete -luckily no one died. Acid attacks, stabbings - nuts find a way to hurt and kill people regardless of guns.

The two schools I’m familiar with in England have security guards - they are unarmed, but they’re there.

86 people were killed by a fricking truck in 1 attack.

If someone wants people to die they will do whatever it takes.

And that’s an entirely sensible response, so thanks.

We get shitty knife crime over here… pretty much isolated to London, Birmingham, Manchester… big urban areas and the shithole parts of it… and it wouldn’t surprise me that some schools have guards there.

but I come back to my original point… an idiot with a knife takes out 1 or 2 people…it’s a different ball game with a gun…. This is not difficult stuff to see or understand and therefore not difficult to point out the problem.

Every country has mental illness and lunatics../ not every country has easy access to guns… and the only place mass public shootings of innnocents frequently occurs is America, where, you’ve guessed, everyone has access to a gun

And then we get these absolute lemons like the complete helmet above bleating on about China like he has half a brain cell between him and his sister who is also his wife.

Your sports are excellent and that’s why I’m here… the gun culture, acceptance of it and unwillingness to see beyond your ‘rights’ to fix an absolutely obvious problem over and over and over again, is mind boggling and infuriating.

Children have just been shot at school… again and some care more about their fricking gun ownership than children being shot…. Because many are numb to this shite because it’s so regular

ban guns then people just start using household chemicals to make toxic gases killing masses. or pipe bombs, tannerite etc.

someone motivated to do this kind of thing can/will find a way the tool is less relevant especially when the target is a defenseless unsuspecting group.

banning guns is just a convenient scape goat to make people feel good about doing something and will undoubtedly lead to worse unintended consequences. the solution cant be punishing the vast majority of gun owners in a meaningless attempt to thwart a miniscule fraction of ill intent, especially when they can still accomplish the same evil by numerous other means.
