I've had gun(s) for 50 years and haven't ever shot anyone. I'm not giving them up anytime soon, especially with all the nuts in the country now

It’s not that easy, Klark.

The one's that do usually steal them from someone else. Almost all of us are responsible gun owners.

It's Uvalde, I'm guessing the majority of 18 year olds there have had at least some experience or interaction with firearms by the time they hit that age

you’d probably be surprised which segments of the population became first time gun owners in 2019. Again, some of the assumptions being made in this thread are dumb.

Attacks on a known mentally and physically crippled poster = I lack the intelligence to respond in a manner that is on par with the level of smarts I intend to present.

Biden is loving this school shooting. All he’s talking about is gun laws.

Possibly true. But how trained do you think someone would need to be to shoot a bunch of 5-8 year olds?

Still waiting on them to ban SUV’s after Waukesha tho

Uvalde doesn’t provide much besides outdoors. I’d assume everyone there has some experience hunting or at least shooting.

i find it amazing that there is a segment of posters that appear out of nowhere in some specific threads, otherwise never post on the OT.

Look I am pro gun. I think any family with kids should have a gun for protection.

But I think there are some safety precautions that should be taken when it comes to guns. I think people should be 21 before purchasing anything more than a hunting rifle.

I think everyone who purchases a gun for the first time should be required to go to a 3 or 4 day safety class. You have to go to a safety class to get a hunter's license so I think that would be a reasonable requirement. And the instructor could serve as a filter.. Every once in awhile there might be someone they pick up on that might need to look more into..

Like the dude who shot up the grocery store. He went purchase the gun himself.. Someone like that. If he has to go to a safety class for a few days first, he might drop some hints that raises some flags.

With that said, I know its not hard to get a gun on the street. But someone mentioned giving harsh punishments for people caught with an unregistered gun. Everyone wants all or nothing and you can't get no where when that's the mentality of all the morons in Washington.

And I understand the gun lobbyist don't want any type of restrictions because they don't want anything that could hurt sells, but there are some reasonable things that can be done to help prevent guns getting into the wrong hands.

And when you are refused admittance to the safety class because of your political views?
