Maybe we should address the mental health issue in this country.

That's hard. Banning a piece of metal and polymer is easier. That way you don't really have to do anything, can pat yourself on the back and virtue signal to your other progressive friends, and the only ones that are impacted are law abiding gun owners.

The shooter was a trans kid?

A trans hispanic kid. Which is why this will fall off the radar with a quickness.

how you have any confidence in our justice system not turning around and giving them back their guns, just like they do with everything else shows just how incredibly naive you are

He's not naive. He just wants to remove any obstacle to his almighty government overlords. He doesn't care about shooting victims. They're just a tool to use to confiscate legally owned guns.

So what? Walmart sold out to the democrats and quit selling guns.

Mentally ill people have access to lots of things. Like a car, it's easier to run someone over than shoot them. Should we take card away?

Pure unadulterated evil.

I cannot even imagine this happening to my grand daughters. God Bless these families who lost loved ones.

Good point. I bought all of my fully automatic assault rifles and extended banana clips with zero questions asked at Walmart

Should have just used the gun show loophole

DM often has details US media glosses over, although with UK gun restrictions, their angle may be different.

Monkeypox, Ukraine, Taiwan, WHO control, gas prices etc are now below the fold, as we used to say.

All other news is, of course, on the back burner.

It's very sad Iona. I know I had children in elementary school during the Sandy Hook shooting and it was difficult not to imagine that happening to them. Awful

Someone who knew of this kids mental illness taught him how to load and fire these rifles and gave him access to these rifles.

Wow, were they just handing them out to anybody who wanted one?

Or were they actually selling them to people who could fill out the Form 4473 and pass the background check?

Funny (not really) how the Feds keep restricting the ability of the law abiding to own something that’s supposed to be constitutionally protected, but do nothing that will have an impact on those who have no business owning them.

This is easy.

This is hard.

Politicians will always take the easy solution that solves nothing, over the hard one that actually addresses the issue. That way they can get back to making themselves rich via the taxpayer.

He was 18 and might have bought the rifles himself. And plenty of people learn how to handle firearms at a young age. I had a shotgun and a lever action deer rifle at like 11 yrs old.

it’s easy to tell who hasn’t purchased a firearm and who has in these type of threads

“i just strolled on down to my local Walmart, picked me up a pack of hotdogs, some buns, and some mustard and an ‘Murica tank top. And while i was there, they had a BOGO sale on assault rifles. So i tossed 2 of them in my cart and headed to the self checkout lane. In and out in 20 minutes I tell ya”
