I have had similar issues with BB shirts. The oldest ones I have last the best. It seems to be with the newer/newish ones. It has been happening for awhile.

Never heard of that, is it a common problem in the homosexual community? Just a guess, if you Stop doing elbows down arse up with your boyfriend the problem will fix itself.

Did you contact BB about the problem?

No, that seemed like a lot of work. I just tossed them out and went on about my day.

Had same issue a year or two ago. Luckily its subsided.

Sucks. Look and see if there are any tiny grooves on the edge of the desk you're rubbing against.

I actually have before. Spoke to a guy at a BB store and he blamed it on getting the shirts dry-cleaned, which he said "significantly weakens the fabric." When I told him that I mostly machine wash the shirts, he was out of excuses.

He also told me that they get that complaint all the time, and that the best he could do was offer 25% off the next purchase. When I asked if they were at least able to repair the shirts, he said no and to take it somewhere that would.

It sucks because I love BB, but that just killed it for me.

Call corporate. Tell them you and your TD baws have been having the same problem and will stop buying such expensive shirts if they fall apart. Accentuate expensive

Are you wearing non-iron shirts? The non-iron treatment makes garments significantly more susceptible to mutilation from abrasion--you'll notice this around the elbows, cuffs, and collar. These wear patterns are inevitable with non-iron shirts; you can delay the progression by:

1) Absolutely never having non-iron garments dry cleaned
2) Only washing them in cold water on the delicate cycle. Line drying is preferred; if you must use the dryer, don't go for more than 5-10 minutes on low.

Traditional, must-iron shirts look better and last longer than modern non-iron fabrics when cared for properly.

If you're already wearing standard, non-treated fabrics, I don't have any idea of what to tell you.

WTF is this BS. Hive had 5-6 shirts rip at my right elbow at work in the last 8 months. fricking a lot of money worth of shirts for this to be happening. I'm running out of fricking shirts. Ain't nothing sharp on my desk.

your car. look where your right arm is resting. the motion/vibration of your vehicle over time wears it out.

solution: roll your sleeves up when you are in your car.

It's not a coincidence - it's happened to almost all of my BB shirts. Don't even really buy them anymore.

stopping buying Brooks Brothers shirts from the outlet stores. The ones from site and anchor stores do not do this. earn more money and buy better shirts. Profit?

I have never gotten them from an outlet and had the same problem. I do get them when they are on sale however.

never had mine tear, lucky I guess. LL Bean actually makes some quality dress shirts these days, caught a few on sale the other day. I also purchased some legit Bison loafers.
