Park rangers are searching for a Mississippi woman last seen in Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park on Thursday.
Rangers found Mary Joanna Gomez's car unoccupied in the Little Baldy region of Sequoia early Sunday morning. They left a note on her windshield in case she returned.

Rescue teams are now combing the area in search of the 56-year-old but have not yet found her, officials said.

Gomez is a traveling nurse who was working in San Francisco, according to family members. She left Wednesday to visit the national parks, but her family became concerned after she didn't return to work in San Francisco Friday night, as scheduled.
Gomez's daughter received pictures from her mother inside the park on Thursday, she said. Gomez is 5'7" and has white hair.

If you see Gomez, officials say please contact Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park at 559-565-3117.

Her husband flew out there Friday and still searching for her. Just keep her and the family in your prayers.

You really think the woman on the right in the pic is 56?

Obviously, the article is not correct.

People sure have gotten nasty on the OT of late.

It's high time The Daily Bible Study Thread made its return. Really softened a lot of hard hearts while it was ongoing and made the OT a much more loving place.

People somehow have come to the conclusion that it's okay, even humorous, to attack, belittle, and say hateful things to and about others. Don't they know they are just harming themselves, harming the target, and creating an atmosphere for others which encourages evil? Love will lift us up where we belong, because we certainly do not belong in the debased basement of hate.

That's a long drive for a short trip.

Hope she just lost the trail and is found safely. It's got to be cold at night.

That’s what everybody was saying why did she go by herself. She has always been the adventurous one and traveling in her Harley Davidson on trips. It’s definitely cold at night out there and hopefully she has enough clothing to stay warm. We are just praying for the best.

Sorry to hear.

A loved one missing is a terrible situation.

How much experience did she have hiking/backpacking? If she was relatively experienced there is a damn good chance she packed emergency items just in case.

Hoping for the best for your family.
