Exactly. It's essentially costing the state and city tax dollars since the program is federally funded
i don't know about all that... the grocery stores in whatever city you live in absolutely LOVE food stamps. I'd venture to say that it keeps some of them afloat. And I imagine the stores generate a good amount of taxes to whatever city they are in.

It's also so easy to demagogue by the left.

I don't know why repub/conservatives continue even bringing up the issue

I was with you til here.

I have a supervisor who works with me who has an EBT card. He makes $65k +. He was paying child support for a kid he has nothing to do with. The kid just graduated from college and this guy didn't go to said graduation. The only reason I know this is he was excited he didn't have to pay child support any more.

The only reason I know he has EBT is B/c he was pissed that subway wouldn't take it.

How does a guy with no dependants and a nice salary get an EBT card? This is the definition of system abuse.

And ? They need assistance. Hence the break.

It has nothing to do with assistance. It's more about saving the Feds some money.

Homeowners insurance is pretty significant in south Louisiana.

This 65k year guy....

He lies on his taxes to say he has 4 or 5 dependents so his AGI is below the poverty line.

This isn't welfare fraud, it is tax fraud.

But then, we know that won't happen. Too many already on the dole that have way more influence than they deserve.

I don't think you should be able to vote if you don't pay taxes. They should have no say in how much taxpayers pay.

But, a big issue is not allowing EBT users to buy from the hot cases at Grocery Stores.

So instead of them getting chicken, roasted chickens, etc for dinner, they will go get shite they dont need, like prawns, crab legs, etc.

You can get a meal for a family of 5 out of the hot case.

Not sure if that is the law in every state, but here it is. I think allowing them access to hot food is much better than access to prawns, tbones, lobster tails, and Porterhouse.
