This doesn't bode well for the Criminal Justice reform(releasing inmates early) JBE is wanting to do in the state. This guy should've still been behind bars.

Attempted murder plead down to aggravated battery and only 13 months in jail...is that common?

Yes and all these people blaming judges need to look at these DA's offering pleas like this to avoid doing some work and having a trial

Brandon Wiley was a offensive tackle at LSU. But he was in college with me so he's not 30. Or maybe that was Brandon Winey. I'm getting old and cant remember names that well anymore.

Yea it's Winey. He's older than you.
Oddly enough Winey is in prison for shooting Tahj Jones.

So he gets 13 months in jail for murder\battery

yet a first offense DWI... your dealing with it for 2-3 years of your life??? makes so much sense!

I thought he may be related to Chuck Wiley, our DT/DE from early/mid 90s. But it doesn't appear that they're related.

Wiley was booked remotely into the jail on Sunday on three counts related to the sheriff's office investigation of him: first-degree rape, resisting an officer and illegal tattooing of a minor. State Police are still investigating the shooting of Anderson, so more charges could be filed against Wiley, Lee said.

Still a couple of HUGE charges not added as of yet....

About 20 yrs ago a guy I worked with came out of a bar and saw a dude beating on his GF. Guy intervened and pulled the guy off the girl and commenced to giving him a beat down. GF jumped on the guy I worked with and he said frick it you two deserve each other. My coworker got in his truck and left well they followed him and my coworker stopped. Guy came at him with a crowbar and co worker put a 44 mag round in his stomach. The guy lived and my coworker was no true billed by a grand jury.

Love happy endings.

ETA: Dammit he lived? nm
