I need to get this crap over with, and there’s no way the exam will be cancelled, only postponed. I have one left on friday. I have basically been a recluse shut-in since Halloween and have the next 3 weeks almost completely booked with partying, family events, and a vacation. I need this crap done so I can move on with my life!

LSU administration meeting soon and will have decision by 5:00 apparently. It's a big decision to make with finals, but are exams really worth risking the lives of their students?

Why not meet now, have a plan and make the call to cancel in the morning? Why cancel the night before when all it is raining now? Would be wise to assess the situation in the morning.

Its a joke the EBR already cancelled. Why not wait to see how it is then make a call. Parents (like all up north) will have to adjust and make arrangements but such is life.

There's a lot of students from out of state that have plane tickets to leave. They cant make them stay to take a final exam later on

bob whats your major if youve been a shut-in since Halloween?

Naw baw, that ain't fair. I literally couldn't make it out of my neighborhood and was terrified I was going to fail since they never would cancel classes. This was my senior year, so I was very relieved when I finally got an email back from my professor allowing me to reschedule.

Your professor let you reschedule. Doesn't sound like you had any problems after all

You crazy, mud. Waiting until tomorrow is rude and extremely inconsiderate to all involved.

This late into finals week, itll be a nightmare to reschedule. They should make the call in the morning. Have a plan for what it'll look like to shuffle everything but they shouldn't shut down unless absolutely necessary.

Not at LSU it doesn’t. LSU knows it doesn’t have the reputation for being the best or the most prestigious, but they take pride in zero grade inflation and shoving students through a f$&king meat grinder for 3 years. It’s probably the most rigorous school in the country. The hours requirements plus the fact that hours at the law school are an actual hour and now 50 minutes means that an LSU law student spends the equivalent of an extra year in class time compared to every other school in the nation.

So yes, law school finals prep sucks balls (and this is coming from a former engineering grad), and I really just want to graduate this spring so I can no longer be financially destitute and have Thanksgiving and Easter back.

Growing up I probably had 25-30 snow days and all but one were cancelled that morning usually around 5:30-6am. Parents adjusted fine and made arrangements.

I understand cancelling ahead for a major imminent hurricane. But cancelling because it might be a little chilly and a snowflake might be visible?

If the buses cant run they have to cancel school. They determined the buses wont be able to run no matter what

There are many places where they just do not have air-conditioning because it is so rarely needed.

Think about no AC and it gets to 90degrees that once in a few years time.

LSU usually follows what the government offices do. Will be interesting.

BRCC just announced closing for Friday and Saturday. LSU will likely do the same.

When buses couldn't run, they waived tardy slips for the day and allowed a two hr time to get to school with no penalty.
