There is a good chance private schools go online too. If that happens, I think it would be devastating for private schools. Many parents are going to have a hard time justifying paying for online instruction.

You know, I had forgotten all about him going to Zachary from Tara. I designed and installed their fiber ring while he was there, as well as cabled most of those schools that were built under his watch.
Mr. Drake doesn't give anything but his best. He is a true advocate for the children under his care.

You can not work a full time job from home, and also teach a Kindergartner. We know, we tried during the last month of school. Something is going to fail, either work or kids school. And if my kid is no longer occupying your school halls, then there better damn well be refunds coming back to the parents.

Do you have any idea how much they are having to spend on technology to make this work? Its a TON. There is also no way in hell that teachers aren't getting 100% pay no matter the work load. They also have to maintain the schools. And, at the end of the day, its EBR parish. You aren't getting a single red cent back. You stayed in EBR, there are probably some benefits to that, but it also comes with consequences, like SWB

St. Johns in Houston, for high school is 31K a year plus several fees.

Didn't happen for the most part in April or May...won't happen this school year either.
If your kids attend online at a private school you can bet your arse you'll be paying 100% tuition.

Last year it was minimal....Zoom and Google gave away their products in April and May. Now whether they will do that or not in August and going forward I do not know.

This is the kicker...they are going to pay teachers which means tution will have to be paid at 100% if students attend.....where it gets tricky is if multiple parents start to take their kids out of private school if they go online (which I don't know why they wouldn't.....I'm not sure who in their right mind would pay for a full year, or even semester, or what we got in April and May). If that happens hard decisions will have to be made at small private schools across Louisiana for sure.

Shitty part is where the tuition has to be paid in full already and you only get half or less back at this point if you decide not to enroll. If we go online, no chance we pay like that without some different policy in regards to this next year.

That's nuts. My squid went to Prestonwood Christian all her life and graduated this year. It peaked at around $19500.00 annually and PCA is one of the best in the state. Dominates TAPPS in several categories. $31000.00 boggles my mind a bit.

There are schools that have been doing online learning for a lot less money for several years. You should look into them, they hire their own teachers who actually teach the class. They have the experience in doing it all online. They do require the kids be physically present in the school on occasion but I don’t know all the details.
They are limited in the amount of space they have so I’d reach out to them ASAP.
