I thought it was telling the lawyers for the family came out immediately after the vote and said it was a mistake and that a jury could render a verdict of $100 million if it goes to trial.
That reeked of desperation on their part.
I still want to know who the fricking mediator was that came up with this proposal. I want to make sure to NEVER agree to use that hack.

Then you have Chandler Loupe, who can’t be bothered to attend meetings or vote on issues that impact tax payers, although he did vote this time....in favor of giving the Sterlings the money.
Shithead.

This. It couldn’t be more obvious.
Make them earn it. Let’s go to trial. It’s time Sterlings actions finally hold some accountability.
ETA: These people are trying to steal 5 million dollars. They will stop at nothing.

You got to be fukin kidding me
You know you can move an “unread” email from your inbox folder to your spam folder.
First investigate if the alleged email was sent to the inbox, and then moved to the spam folder as still “unread”.
And you wonder why there is absolutely ZERO faith in the Metro Council.
I’m just looking at it as a residence from outside the parish.....EBR problems

But one email on the Sterling settlement was inadvertently omitted because it was misdirected to the council administrator’s spam folder, council administrator Ashley Beck says.

The entire family will not have netted 5 million dollars in their lifetimes combined
They might have been able to get a 10,000 dollar policy that might have paid out.
And this is just for supposedly HIS life.
But just think about how many CDs he could have sold if he were alive

You can't make this shite up.
I hope they don't change the vote, unless it's even more heavily against a settlement.
Who here smells a rat besides me?

He'd be in the $90 range at least. I am sure they'd be selling like, well whatever sells in NBR at the Quicky Mart or whatever it is called.

What was the cutoff time for public comments on this matter? I really doubt it was up to the begining of the meeting. I think if the city doesn't check the spam folder that's on them at this point. I watched the deal online and they did edit some of the comments that were going off the rails a bit.

Fried chicken.
That's not a racist joke. It's on the sign. I love fried chicken, I bet the Triple S has some pretty damn good fried chicken.

As I said last page:

If you are a District 12 resident, be sure to let her know. Her metro council email is: CouncilDistrict12DL@brla.gov
She better not pull a Friedburg (whose seat she now holds) like on the Council on Aging tax fiasco.
