The problem with easter is that its not a set date. I think this year its as early as as it can possibly be but that makes it hard to plan around.

No one made your kids drive home nor is there is some force requiring you to spend every Easter Holiday together.

They're in college. Cut the cord. You've served your time & they've served theirs.

Or recognize the realities of the situation and do the family stuff before.

I can come the frick on, I can appreciate the notion that Easter is for families, but there is nothing tying it to specifically that day.

Do your stuff on Saturday.

Or look at it a little more personally.....maybe your kids just don't like being home and just make their appearances for social obligations.

Or did both kids have test/projects in the morning that they simply could not miss.

You will be made fun of in this thread by a lot of the same people who go on and on about how important it is for us to understand "peaceful" muslims

So what was stopping these people from using a personal day today? I'm traveling back from visiting family and I'm using one.

Point to me where in the Constitution is there anything said about separation of the two?

Apparently you do not get it...

Dude your kids are in college, it's time to move on. They have their own lives now and you can start prepping for retirement and the sweet release that is death.

LSU just had spring break, public high schools are on spring break now. You know during Christmas time they are out of school for a month? They get off of school for mardi gras, no where else in the country do they do that. So maybe stop complaining about your college kids that dont want to spend time with their parents anymore.

They were trying to get out of that lunch as soon as possible and blamed it on school.

Yup. If they were partying with friends, they would have drove back in the morning.

So, was there a time when all of America got Monday off? You say "anymore" as if that were a thing once. But it wasn't.

Most religious holidays are made secular because of the political correct world and the war on Christianity we are living in today. It's sad really.

Christians took the holidays from the pagans because it was easier to take their holidays than create there own and those dates and seasons were already ingrained into the culture and heritage of the people.

The secular world is now taking the Christian holidays for the same reason.

I stopped fighting against who believe this statement. The same ppl also do not recognize why it is dangerous for them to support policies which might ban Muslims in the US.
