You have the Eastern Tennessee Seismic Zone, which is prone to frequent small earthquakes. It runs from NE AL up through SW VA.
You also have the Brevard Fault Line in Georgia, which runs from Blue Ridge down to Marietta.

The Knoxville paper has some coverage showing where it was felt as well as where the epicenter was.
I heard a boom about that time, but figured someone was poaching somewhere along the river.

I live in greenback shook a good bit and sounded like thunder honestly. Figured the weather man had missed and we were getting thunderstorms again until it shook how it did.

Apparently got up to a 4.1 in Knoxville. I didn't feel it at all because I was driving I guess. But the people at home said thought the house was going to fall in.

We're in Louisiana. It's not our fault.

Y’all have crawfish in Tennessee? Let me guess….you like to dust them and put mustard in them in an ice chest after they’re boiled, and you like to put magnesium citrate on them before the boil?
Please, first of all, I’m in Woodstock, Ga. Not Tenn.
Second, I’ve probably caught and boiled way more crawfish than you.
Third, my relative is Troy Landry (Swamp People). I had a place, for years, on the water in Pierre Part.
My family moved up here, when construction was slow in Louisiana, early 80’s. Have a major construction company. They were in on the construction of the Braves Stadium and the area around it.

I’m not that well versed on geology, but what would cause an earthquake ins eastern Tennessee/North Georgia? Theres not a fault line is there?

LSU Dad, it’s cool I believe you brother. I am a relative of the Guillots from your way. Kenny made a mean brisket but the recipe is lost when he died. Be sure to write some of those recipes down
