I got this same bike for Christmas 1997. That green splash paint job was amazing. Still remember the Christmas lights reflecting off that bad boy

quote:not totally true. They had some “team” type offerings through the years. I remember a slammer That was high end with gT 3 pc cranks etc. I want to say they had a compe liike that too.
Dyno was ,Gt's low end offer. No full chromolly frames and specked out with low end parts. Honestly a low end line

Yeah, I grew up in the 80s. My neighborhood comprised of Hutch, Redline, Mongoose, Diamondback, and I had a CW, chrome. I was the only one who had one, had to be different, lol. Very good bike though, as expensive or more so than the other ones I listed.

Yep just give the pedals a good kick in reverse and drift that bitch across a gravel driveway
We used to fold up a piece of roofing felt and use it to drift on blacktop.
Be wary of when the felt gets thin, because young nuts and the bikes gooseneck don’t get along well.

This was me in the late 90s. GT Air Chrome with mags.
Hard to ride with that flat front tire I bet.

I got the 3rd one Christmas of 1994. I was 11.
I still have it today at 38. I took it out of storage last March when Covid hit. Put new tires and handgrips on it and still ride it.
It was awesome seeing the kids in the neighborhoods jaw drop when they saw an “old” dude cruising on a Dyno. ??

Me and my Brothers all raced BMX growing-up and PK Ripper was what we raced with. Super light but strong.
I bought a $1k PK Ripper at the age of 15, but than turned 16 and bought a $900 car and never rode it again.
Sold it cheap to my little brother and he turned around a won Nationals on it a few months later. He still rides it 25 years later.

My first real bike. Mine was smoked Chrome or gunmetal grey or whatever it was. Basically smoked gray version of Chrome. Must have been the only one in existence because I can't find a picture of it anywhere on the interwebs.

When I was young and raced I had a candy apple red hutch expert decked out with RL flight cranks hutch bear trap pedals, 1"3/8 wheels built around bullseye hubs. Quit for about a decade and started riding street and dirt jumping. at that point I pretty much stuck to S&M bikes or Standard bike company. I ended up getting on a unofficial flow list with S&M and got pretty much all my stuff free or dirt cheap. I actually rode until I was 40+ and finished up with a 22" S&M Holmes. My body is destroyed now as a result of this. Sold the Holmes 22 after knocking myself out on a box jump in my back yard. I promoted a few contests and things like that for a while but eventually got away from it completely. I still miss the feeling of a nice dirt rythm rhythm section today. I'll probably pick up a 26" quadangle at some point and just cruise and hop a curb here and there

Bruh me too, my first one was cheap from toys r us the the handle bars kept moving every time I’d jump, my dad did all he could to
Keep it from moving, it was just cheap,
And after that before I got my dyno I pieced together my first bmx with a frame from my friends garage and a mag wheel from someone else, spoke rear wheel and no breaks... but I loved it.

I had a GT Redline with Araya spokes. That bike was awesome. I just bought reframe from a friend and used all my lawn mowing money on the rims, tires, gyro thing for the break lines. That bike was the love of my young life. I remember dropping some coin on a three piece crank for that bike.
