I passed all of them in chimes parking lot after 16-17 imperial pints.
Walked to car to get cigs with just the fob in case some cop was a Dick. I sneezed while opening the door and dropped the fob. Cop gives me every test under the sun. Including the old ABC's backwards thing.
He finally decides to make me blow in a breathalyzer and I refused. He calls his supervisor who shows up. They go back and forth trying to pressure me into it. Finally I just busted out laughing. Pointed out it would be REAL hard to drive without the keys.
Supervisor realizes I don't even have the keys after I explained I was just grabbing a pack of cigarettes. Got both badge numbers and had their boss have a meeting with all four of us where they were forced to apologize for the wasted two hours.
As we were walking out, I may have finally admitted that I was blind drunk.
but still smart enough to know when they are watching the cars.
I tried to heel toe the other night dead sober and my ankles aren't what they used to be.

Early 1980's when the hand held breathalizers first came to Lake Chuck. I passed the agility test even alphabet backwards. Passed the hand held breathalizer too, two blocks from home. The cop had passed a carload of drunk gals weaving to go after a male driving alone.
I could barely pass the agility test the next day at work while demonstrating.

That's the point dummy - So you will say "I couldn't even do that sober".
Ha - Gotcha

Yep.
Unless you haven't had a single drink of anything in quite a while, don't do shite.

Sooooooooo legally drunk dipshit.
MADD will never be happy until driving a car at .02 is illegal, too.
It's also breaking the law if you didn't do 44 hours of in car training with your teenager after they get their permit in Texas, but I can tell none of you are doing it by the way they drive like timid anxious shits causing danger to everyone around them. Let's start prosecuting that. And develop weed specific tests for you stoner assholes in places like Boulder.

In Louisiana, you now have to a breath machine in your car (even your work vehicle) if you want to drive while on probation for a DUI. The other option is not to drive.

It’s a double edged sword. While I agree that they are there to only further incriminate yourself. I know an old Vietnam vet who got pulled over. He could definitely have been taken in. Cop did the eye test to show that he actually had something on camera and let him go because he was a vet.

Yeah, that's why people have their kids blow into them so they can start the car. But safety first, right?

Also... if only there were some way to prevent having to take these test. Just can't quite put my finger on it, though. Hmmm...
You do know there has been 600 confirmed sober drivers arrested for DUI in Tennessee alone don’t you?

back in a sociology class we studied these test. The number one way that the officer was able to get you to confess is after the test or during the test the driver would always make the statement "I couldn't do that sober" it was an admission of guilt.

It's a huge scam.
Just like CAF, departments have figured out how to steal under the cover of a "badge".
No one posting here is saying actual drunk driving isn't a crime, but these thieves, stealing money and time are a problem.
And MADD is a perfect example of what the road to Hell is paved with...

Exactly. All about revenue. Want to curb drunk driving? Make breathalyzers mandatory in every car.
But the police would be against that.

Then the manufacturer could add on a $20/month subscription service to make it work or your car won't start.

They've been validated in multiple studies. 4-2-2 on the HGN, Walk-and-Turn, and One-Leg-Stand has an accuracy rate in predicting .08+ BAC of 91%.

So after they pulled your blood and breathalyzer and it showed nothing, you still got a DWI? Sounds like a lawsuit to me

Did they do the study with a group of people with barely a high school education that is annoyed that someone hasn’t fully submitted to their “authority”?

Has anyone ever tried to do these tests without any alcohol? We tried to do the heel to toe, the finger on the nose tip, and lifting of your leg while looking at the sky. No one could do these tests without fricking up. How are these things still a part of any test?
Concerning that this question is asked then 60 plus people have upvoted I'm guessing in support of this.
So irresponsible.
There is zero reason you should ever be doing a physical fitness test for high school educated oafs.
Tell them to book you and call the attorney.
