Africa has no easy, natural means of transportation or integration. Tigers aren’t navigable for long stretches, mountains and deserts block movement. People and groups remained isolated and fragmented.

I was talking to a South African coworker this morning. He said that we tend to think of South Africa as being different (better) than the rest of Africa, but he said it's just as corrupt and tribal as every other country on that continent. He said "capital 'S' Shithole."
