They aren’t refusing to operate. They won’t have a kidney for the operation unless she is on the national transplant list. The hospitals don’t just “grab a kidney” out of thin air. They come from organ networks.
The national organ networks require anyone on their lists needing an organ to be fully vaccinated.

How exactly were those vaccines produced, how long have they been used and how many long term studies of potential risks been completed and reviewed?
I’m not anti Covid shot but it’s not a traditional vaccine and the risk reward scale hasn’t been studied even generally fir someone like this young lady whose had the virus..

You mean the rule that’s been standard long before COVID? They just added the COVID vaccine to their long list of required vaccinations for potential organ receivers.
Like it was mentioned……it’s to give the patient the best protection possible after transplant. They will be on organ rejection meds for likely the rest of their life that will make them more vulnerable to infections and viruses. Anything that can possibly prevent that should be done for those group of patients. COVID could actually kill some of these folks after a transplant.
