So, theoretically, a person can get a DUI parked in front of their own house having a brewski. How dumb is that?

What happened to the constitution? To America? The hippies are winning.

Got one of those just a couple of weeks ago. He was parked by the water with a woman making out and patrol rolled up on him and gave him a DUI. Keys weren't even in the ignition.

In Tennessee you can get a dui if you have the keys to a disabled vehicle near you. But there's no state law against a passenger having an open container so maybe it's a wash.

I know someone that had this happen to him. Given he was so drunk he tried to get in his car and drive home and he fell asleep before he could even turn the car on

What if you live in your car or in your own driveway just wanting to chill?

Get a real lawyer and you'll beat that all day. One more example of predatory law enforcement aimed at the poor.

You think hippies want to give out DUI? More like it is the Christian right trying to morally legislate everything

You know nothing of the Christian Right. They can appreciate a good brewski.

Yeah it so bullshite. My friend got one in college parked with the ignition off and the keys thrown on the floorboard while he tried to sleep it off.

Of course, he was parked in the median of I-20 and he had already driven around 10 miles before running off into the median.

But theorectically, he was no longer operating a vehicle.....he was sleeping in a vehicle.
