Lol. Good point but drinking and driving didn't have as much of a stigma back then that it does now. MADD was founded in 1980 and the legal limit in Virginia in 1984 was .15%. Now, the laws are stricter and with Uber, sober rides available and yes taxis as you pointed out there really is no point in getting behind the wheel.

Also had a suspended license from parking ticket I never knew I had gotten. Does this change anything?

Better to suffer with fees and to learn a lesson, versus killing someone/himself.

Chances are I bet if you have drank socially in your life, you have driven a vehicle... tipsy or hammered. Hypocritical criticsm is the best.

You're welcome to have that line of thinking and I've made mistakes in my past but one thing I'm sure of, I've never drank and drove. I don't drink, never have, unfortunately in my career, I've seen what it can do to lives.

Obviously this guy is young and hopefully he learned a valuable lesson.

Right on. Learn from the mistake and move on. The dumbest thing he may have done is not getting a lawyer. That should have been done on day 1.

My son got a DUI in Maryland at 18. We immediately hired a lawyer and started him in the required classes before the court date. It cost a lot of money but in the end he ended up with nothing on his record.

Yeah.. uber is like 10 or 20 bucks and you dont even need to talk to anyone.

Be fricked up, open phone app, click a few buttons, chill the frick out and everyone wins

I know it was wrong, but this is hurting me. An interlock, drug tests, classes that cost more money then rent. theyre gonna drive us to drink even more

Well drinking and driving is dangerous

Do you want to kill yourself behind the wheel? Or by posting porn?

It was more common to hear about people with multiple DWIs prior to the mid-1980s. I went to school with a guy who had 4 before he graduated.

Edit: I thought I remembered the number being 4, but I checked with an old friend who knew him better than me, and he said there were 6 or 7 that he knew of. This seems incredible, but we're talking about the early 80s, pre-MADD, and 18-year old drinking age environment. It's an astounding record for a high schooler that I don't think will ever be broken.
