Yep.

Shouldn't have gotten rid of Delta Point either.

We’re stuck in the 3rd year of this pattern. Until we go to neutral or move to an El Niño, the drought down here will continue.

seems like a great reason for gas prices to go up.

One quiet part of the planet must be flooded like a scene from Waterworld - all this water has to be somewhere. It’s not in the oceans because they haven’t really risen, it’s not in the glaciers because the government told me they’re all melting, same with the ice caps, it’s not in the US because we’ve got “unprecedented” droughts, same with China and subsaharienne Africa, it’s not in the snow fall because the weather channel told me we’re not getting as much, etc.

So where in the hell is it?!?!

This is true, but La Nina doesn't mean that it will be dry in the area. For the BR area this year will likely be the only year of the three that finishes below normal for rainfall.

That's the double-edged sword of having no tropical systems at all in the Summer. Couple that lack of activity with a very dry Winter and Spring, and you will always have drought conditions.

Baton Rouge is now 11.17" below normal year-to-date for 2022.

It turns out that that wet July and August everyone was bitching about may wind up being the only saving grace for the area as far as rainfall goes.

I heard this morning that rice and sugar cane had bumper crops. Ditto the second rice crop. They did say that the dust is a bitch though.

They are set to flood the fields soon.

Will water be an issue?

I proposed that we use injector wells to pump excess river water into the aquifer during years when the river is high. I still believe that is a wise decision.

Sorry, I'm going to have to consult OML before I believe this.

How could every single major production and delivery aspect see historic events in the last year. shite feels like it’s being done with intent.

With less river silt drifting out to the gulf, I wonder what effect this will have on fisheries and beaches?

Warren Buffet fixing to eat.

Doesn't he still own a lot of railroad stocks, and wasn't that partly his reasoning for cancelling the Keystone Pipeline since it would for Canada to use rail to transport oil?
