They should make the legal limit .00
Will never happen. This number is used to generate money, not safety. If it was about safety it would be .000 and drinking and driving would be illegal. Its LEGAL from .000-.0799.
quote:Do you automatically assume someone is drunk if they run over a kid doing 25mph? Most people who are drunk will likely be going much faster than 25.
What if you hit a kid "only going 25 6 blocks from your house"?

If he's not even old enough to drink they should have taken away his license after the first offense.

Disgusting piece of shite

Why is it that the drunk driver lives, and the innocent always seem to die in these situations?
Makes me wonder about too much.

I love the people who immediately say “drop the limit to 0.00 and make all violations ten years in prison” every time a tragedy happens. There’s no doubt it’s a tragedy, but over reacting and passing irrational and draconian laws to try and achieve perfect societal safety is foolish.
All drinking should be outlawed then. People get passionate and get into fights and hurt each other. More safety for everyone. All smoking should be outlawed everywhere. If there’s even a chance someone could get second hand smoke it increases their risk of death. Guns? Jesus let’s not even go down that rabbit hole. Interstate speed limits? Drop them to 30. It’s very established that every 5 mph speed limit increase results in a marked increase in traffic fatalities. Need I go on?
The penalties should probably be stiffer, and the idea of having higher penalties for high BAC is a good one. But between there are probably hundreds if not thousands of people every night in Baton Rouge who drive a couple of blocks after having a few glasses of wine or a couple of nice beers and don’t endanger anyone.

A drunk person will go with the flow and not react to a head on collision. A sober person will react and tense up their muscles bracing for impact. Sober person is going against what the body wants to do or where it wants to go. I am guessing this has something to do with it. If it doesnt then your lord and savior is a TPOS because its his doing.

Well this one was probably more due to drunk being in truck and others in civic.
And I think I read where at least one of the girls weren't wearing seatbelt

Same thoughts. Seems like God could step back to his Old Testament ways in cases like these.

this specific example because I've done it countless times to our neighborhood grocery store. I'll be cooking dinner and drinking red wine and forget something so I'll go 6 blocks to the store going no faster than 25 mph to get onions or something after 2-3 glasses of wine.
Admitting to driving drunk multiple times and thinking it is no big deal is so OT of you.

This is why I give zero fricks when people give me shite for not drinking at all.
Last sip of alcohol I had was like 7 years ago.
There's a special place in hell for drunk drivers. It's one of the most piece of shite things you can do in life.

Every drunk says this number to the cops before they get thrown in the tank. It's like clockwork.

The distance doesn't matter. My dad always said that if you drink more than a few sips of alcohol, your arse needs to stay put or call someone to pick you up. And even then, I've never witnessed him driving after drinking even one sip of alcohol.
Well, I for one will never deal with this problem because I don't drink. And I don't smoke or eat fat arse foods at all.

This is one thing great about the small towns or villages in Europe. The pub is always within walking distance of where you are staying.

The reckless discharge of a firearm at a parade in LA is a minimum sentence of 5 years, 3 of which must be served without the benefit of parole, probation, or suspension.
Something like that seems reasonable for DUIs.
This type of law would never pass bc too many politicians, government officials and employees, lawyers, judges, military high command would be jeopardized.

Common sense says this dude should just be executed, he’ll never be a positive contributor to society.
I don't think it's going to be so easy for him to mentally live with what he's done.
One would hope after he serves his time and gets out, he will spend the rest of his life going around telling his story and teaching people the worst that can come from such actions.

This, there should definitely be tiered penalties for drunk driving!
