They've had it coming for a while. I'm sick of the homeless people and theft in Portland. Everywhere you look there is some fricking hobo.

When was the last time you were in Los Angeles? Where did you stay?

I was there last weekend Sunday and Monday, and didn't see anything like that. There are too many tourist to actually see any of the sights after midmorning, but other than that it was a great time. There are some really good places to eat in LA if you have some locals to guide you.

I also spent three days there back in early September, and I had A boost last riding around downtown on this Lime electric scooters with a big fat joint in my hand taking in all the sights of the most finest women you'll ever fricking see. I saw an amazing concert that Monday that was just absolutely mind-blowing. I can't wait to go back Next time I'm gonna go see the Peterson Museum and a bunch of other stuff .

it's just like all these Louisiana idiots that talk about the piss and shite in San Francisco, but who never actually been there . New Orleans is 100 times worse than anything you'll find in San Francisco.

you ignorant southern scumbags just need to wallow in your misery here. And know that California never thinks about Louisiana even though Louisiana is obsessed with California . Louisiana isn't even on their fricking radar it's so inconsequential in the big picture of things.

Kiss my arse on the grammatical errors , it's too cold out here to fix the errors on talk to text . I can't wait to get back to the Bay Area where it's nice and sunny right now.

A lot of non-homeless people do that in New Orleans and worse. I've been down every street in downtown LA, and seen some crazy sites, but not once have I even felt the beginnings of a threat from anyone. I sure would not say the same thing walking down the street in parts of any major city in Louisiana.

And I haven't seen anything in LA or San Francisco that I haven't seen even more extreme in New Orleans, going all the way back to the 80s .

The ignorant xenophobic racist bubble you live in down here is mind-blowing.

It’s definitely a problem even if some people are attacked. I agree.

And I think the tough part is .... no one knows what to do with them.

The homeless problem out here is MASSIVE... I didn’t mean to downplay that. But what I meant is that they aren’t all holding butcher knives and wearing hockey masks waiting for unsuspecting victims.

But yeah, they’re gross as hell. And they’re everywhere in LA and the surrounding area, though most heavily in downtown.

The Popeye's attacks seem to be a more pressing need at the moment

Boy someone knows very little about California. I’m a former resident of Santa Monica and visit multiple times per year. I love SoCal and it’s my second home. I left in 2015 and it’s gone downhill a ton in that short amount of time, and no it’s not just downtown. Marina Del Ray and to the north of that is where I spend most of my time and the homeless and druggies are terrible there.

Anecdotal story by my wife travels all around the country for work. She was in downtown LA this year and was in a Starbucks with her boss, also a woman.

A homeless guy came inside and walked table to table asking for money. She said he seemed really agitated. As she told him no, he lunged at her and grabbed her by the shoulders. Two guys at the table next to her were able to pry him off and shoved him to the door.

She and I went to Napa last year and spent an afternoon in SF when we landed. Similar thing there. Drugs addicts sitting on the sidewalks. The homeless on the West Coast are very aggressive. This is also the situation in Austin. There is a freaking shelter right off 6th St.

Most people who are homeless are crazy. Giving them free reign to roam in public is a recipe for disaster.

I can't imagine why anyone who doesn't live there would go and spend a dime in that shite hole. I feel sorry for the normal people who pay taxes so the dems can wipe their asses with it.

We need to auction Cali to any bidder.

While I do not doubt any of that have you taken a stroll down Esplanade lately?

Been to Gulfton lately?

Cali has no stranglehold on crime or hobo's

I’ve been in LA for a week and a half right now. Been pretty much all over. LA is probably one of the cleanest cities I’ve ever seen

So, what's a real solution to the problem of the large homeless populations around the country? Coddling to them by not "punishing" them isn't a solution, it only enables it and doesn't provide an end or resolution to their plight.

Telling them to just "get a job", isn't all that easy, either. i doubt many businesses want to be in the business of hiring (especially being forced to) homeless people. Talk about being not likely to show up for work every day.

so, let's hear it. Real solutions. real end of their plight.

Free flight halfway across the pacific, Hawaii needs more hobos and it is too far for them to swim back.

If they are able to swim back at least they will be clean hobos
