I agree with you that smoking a little pot is better for you than drinking.
Who would you rather have next to you working the next morning? The guy that smoked a joint, ate dinner and went to bed or the guy that crushed a case of beer and stayed up till 2am?

The argument isn't if it's better than drinking. The fact is whether you agree or disagree drug testing is legal and enforced and can cost you a job. Why risk your job and income for a plant?

Baw is getting fired from the plant for a plant.

Quit smoking the pots, Cheech.

Goldenseal does not work. The only thing that can help flush you is cranberry juice and time.

It doesn’t really pertain to my situation, because I don’t have to worry about it. But, I think under suspicion of being under influence testing is absolutely the right way to go. I just have issue with it when it pertains to someone who may do it on the weekend or not during work hours. People can drink every night and go to work hungover with no repercussions, yet a person can smoke a little weed on the weekends?

Smoking every now and then is way better than drinking. The only reason people bring up shite about it is because it’s not yet legal here.
How about just don't do the first one and get fired, and drink responsibly?
Like a fricking adult.
And lol @ the three stoners downvoting. Poor bastards.

I don’t know the reason why some people drink and others smoke, but I know I’m my brother’s situation he can’t drink because it wrecks his stomach.

Exactly. I couldn't care less if someone wants to do drugs. I'd love to be able to drink at lunch every day, but I can't because my job doesn't allow it.

What kind of income does a plant sales rep make?

I call on plants and make enough to where I never touch any drugs at all. It ain't worth me losing my job over at all.

But, in the past any person calling on the facility may have been subject to testing. Does this still happen or only for people doing actual work in the plant?
Never saw that happen at any plant I ever worked at, though that is a bit limited. Only people who actually did work there were subject to testing at the place I went.

Start writing the checks for their workers comp and general liability. Then you can make the rules.

My brother is the one concerned about this. He started working for a company and was screened by them. He will be calling on plants/refineries in the area, but never doing actual work. More lunch and learns and that sort of thing.
He should be just fine.
They have the right to do it but it's RARELY done without cause.

I've found that not doing drugs is a great way to not have to worry about random drug testing.
Maybe he inhaled the smoke second hand in a social setting? That's what always happened to my guys when they fail a test

If he's actually doing any work in the plant then he will be subject to that plants rules. Generally if you go into a plant they require site specific training like basic plus.
If you have to take basic plus then you'll be put into DISA and you WILL get tested eventually.
