Damn, they let any trashy individual become a doctor these days. Try to display a modicum of couth and professionalism.

you are a total dbag for even having a lawsuit idea at this point. I know the personality type... shite does not just happen, you have to blame something or someone. People like you are miserable human beings. Get help before you blow your own brains out when you hit 45.

Dude, chill. Geez. Yes shite happens, but occasionally people make mistakes. I'm not angry, I'm simply wanting my son to be OK.

It's the first I'm mentioning it here, but this was first noticed several weeks ago. Certain family members have continuously, unsolicited I might add, been telling me I have a lawsuit on my hands.

I simply started this thread to ask some questions and gather information. Why is that such a big deal?

I'm not worrying. I was simply asking a question based on, even as minor as it is, the chance of such a situation occurring.

I even made that clear in the OP, that the lawyer side of the question was based on an IF.

Probably a tiny sebaceous cyst that has nothing to do with the procedure. A medical review board would laugh at you if you tried to sue over this

I was wondering why they had a pediatric urologist do my boy's circumcision recently, when in the past the pediatrician did them. Then I read this thread and realized why.
The pediatricians don't want to deal with bullshite malpractice cases like this.

Unfortunately, a lot of times when there's a post surgical infection like this it's rapid and fast growing and the doctors end up having to do a penectomy where they remove the whole thing. Are you sure you left the bandages on long enough?

Needless to say, this is one reason my children won't be circumcised. That and I don't want the Muslim kids to bully them

Not even going to pretend I came into this thread to read anything. I'm just going to upvote on the title alone.

You keep being you, OT.

Why would your dad decide to get circumsized at age 52,bro? You come from a fricked up family.

Seriously, 52? Holy shite why even decide to do it at that point?

It was medically necessary. Which I think would obviously be the only reason anyone that age would.

Can't form a medical opinion with a story like this. Need to see it myself. But the real issue is that you either do or don't trust your physician. If you do, there's no issue. If you don't, you should find another physician.

Bleeding, infection, and poor cosmetic result are basically the three risks that are written on every circumcision consent. There's likely not a case worth pursuing unless that Doctor did a terrible job on outlining the risks in the case you're describing.

You are what your associates are. Sounds like some one "gotsta get paid, no wut I'm sayin'"!

Isn't circumcision an elective procedure? Good luck with getting rich on that.

First off take a deep breath and relax. Children have an amazing ability to heal anything. White stuff does not necessarily equal puss, and infection has more than puss, such as redness and warmth. I think you know enough to get yourself in a lot of trouble, and cause a lot of worry. Your grasp of the science behind wound healing is not complete and sounds incorrect. Also many circumcisions are not done perfectly the first time and require revision later on down the road. This is not a grounds for malpractice, just the case wasn't as successful as it could have been and the child has a cosmetic deformity. Malpractice requires a breach of the standard of care and that the breach of care causes harm to the patient. I think this will be difficult to prove in this case. It is very disappointing how quickly you began to think of a lawsuit and all of the potential "damages" before you even know if your child will have a problem. But, I do understand being worried about your first child, and circumcisions are a topic that makes parents especially neurotic.

IF YOU DONT READ ANYTHING ELSE READ THIS: 1. You need to be an advocate for your child, if you were not comfortable with the doc not taking a look at your sons penis and saying it will be fine insist that he come look at it, you have the right to request this, and I don't think it is unreasonable at all. 2. Get a new pediatrician. You are a new parent and are going to be basically insane with worry (nothing unusual). You need to trust the person telling you to chill out when everything is fine, and if you don't you should find someone who you do. I am sure the pediatrician is a great doc, but this is for your piece of mind

1. Visit a Pediatric Urologist for an exam. Likely a penile skin bridge by what you are describing. These can occur after circs due to the anatomy of certain kiddos.

2. I do not like judging people on the web, but the sue happy mentality sucks on your part. Most kiddos with skin bridges are the result from a very prominent suprapubic fat pad or poor parental hygiene pushing the skin back during the initial healing process. No tort by the circumciser and unfortunately I cannot transfuse you any IQ points via the interwebs.
