I don’t know who overrates Texas. It’s one of the best states in the country. Part of that is due to the sheer size.

When someone talks down upon Texas culture. It’s laughable. That’s like saying NYC has no culture. It’s so damn big, there are several cultures. Even Louisiana doesn’t have ONE type of culture.

If you can’t find a way to entertain yourself in the second largest, and second most populous state, then you cannot he helped.

Originally from Louisiana- Lived in Dallas for 6 years. Couldn't wait to get out. It is a painfully boring area There are far better places to live in this country to live than TX The 2 best things about the State of Texas- Big Bend and Palo Duro Canyon

I would love to live near Kerrville on the Guadalupe. Towards Hunt. It's stunning out there.

Never been to Katy. I have asked several native Houstonians/Texans "Hey, where can I get some good (chinese, chicken fried steak, sushi, etc.)" and the usual response is a shrug or a chain restaurant. I know a guy who has lived in Houston his whole life and he drives an hour north to Conroe for street tacos because the X number of places he's tried in and around Houston don't match up to a hole in wall place called La Palma. It is likely the only hole in the wall place that serves good food that is slightly unique and has mom'n pop feel to it that I've been to.

I tried a place called Mel's country diner or something that supposedly had amazing chicken fried steak. Some of the blandest food I've ever had. Was literally ground meat battered in flour and fried with instant white gravy poured on top. Place was packed and most of the people in there got CFS. The best CFS I've had since I've lived here is at Longhorns. Maybe I caught them on a bad day but I won't go back to find out.

So in my experience I find this general area doesn't offer much other than what I previously stated. It is on my to-do list to go into the city and try various types of cuisine from the ethnic centers in the city. Until then, I stand by my experiences in the lack of quality food outside of Tex-Mex, BBQ, and steak. Which by all accounts are fine with me, just want some variety.

Actually, you can only say that for Texas. It’s the only 2nd largest and 2nd most populous state. That’s exactly why I clarified that.

You can’t say every state is 2nd largest.

I’m not saying that the way someone would brag, just as a fact that there’s plenty to do when there’s more places to go.

Who said anything about being mad?

Probably because he couldn't get in to Texas Universities due to higher academic standards.

Had you received a good HS education you might have figured that out and not posted such a stupid statement making LA look worse than it already did

I'm mean.. duh

Still the point you were trying to make just made LA look worse than Texas since our state Universities have tougher admission standards..

So back to your point
