At LSU with mine right now. Sitting outside Himes surfing the OT while he takes a trig test. Looking at the Mechanical Engineering schedule, it looks like all the dual enrollment/AP credits he earned and the stuff he can test out of don't help him much.

He might appreciate it if you helped him out. By leaving Baton Rouge for 48 hours.

There's an entire agenda for parents while the kids do their stuff, and much of it is done together. The overwhelming majority are with their parents here. He has 4 years to do the LSU thing away from
his parents.
ETA: 30 minutes of his schedule is testing - the majority of the 2 days is orientation.
his parents.

Shoot, I didn't even get the invite to Spring Testing. However, back in the day, LSU offered placement test all through the summer to all incoming freshman. You could sign up for anything. Had a buddy who signed up for Latin testing , got out of 5 hours just by guessing. Also, you could use your calculator for Math. I got out of College Algebra that way.
Anywho, good luck to all who are there

In '02, the only thing we had to do was show up for the tests. Walking tours were optional, but you could do whatever you wanted after the tests

my wife and youngest are there now too. we went through it all last year with my son and my wife enjoyed it. The schedule is very tight, they are organized and efficient.

Yeah, if you think you’re going to test out of engineering coursework, you’re gonna be disappointed. If he was that smart he’d have already graduated college at this age

Math
English
Chemistry/Biology
Those were all classes that you could test through to the next levels IIRC

Sure, you’re going to test out of trig or college algebra or English comp. or basic sciences, but you probably aren’t going to test out of physics or differential equations or some shite.

Right...it's helicoptering to attend family orientation with your family.

I actually paid the $60 for parent orientation to be safe, but outside the initial check-in at the stadium, I have done nothing. He found some friends and I became expendable. I am now pretending to work at my firm's BR office, and will soon be hitting the Bulldog.

That first slice of Mellow Mushroom helped turn my freshman 15 into a freshman 30

I guess in my day it wasn't quite that Thoreau-ish, back then it was either get your arse in school or here's an M-16 and a pair of combat boots, your uncle wants some quality time with you

Does Junior not know how to drive the family car and do this on his own?

Junior has already taken notice of the many fine ladies. Which is actually something, since he is coming from an all boys school.
